Beach Volleyball
Beach volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of two or more players on a sand court divided by a net. Similar to indoor volleyball, the objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent's side of the court. Each team also works in unison to prevent the opposing team from grounding the ball on their side of the court. Teams are allowed up to three touches to return the ball across the net, and individual players may not touch the ball twice consecutively except after a touch off an attempted block. Making a block touch leaves only two more touches before the ball must be hit over. The ball is put in play with a serve—a hit by the server from behind the rear court boundary over the net to the opponents. The receiving team typically uses their three touches to pass the ball, set it up for an attack, and then attack the ball by sending it back over the net. Robert Nowotny (born January 27, 1974, in Vienna) is an Austrian beach volleyball player. Nowotny began his career at the FIVB World Tour in 1996. From the 2000 season went on to compete with your long-time partner, Peter Gartmayer, where they remained until 2005. Clemens Doppler
Clemens Doppler (born 6 September 1980) is a beach volleyball player from Austria. He and teammate Peter Gartmayer represented Austria at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Although he qualified for the 2004 Summer Olympics, an injury kept him out and he was replaced by Florian Gosch. After the 2008 Summer Olympics, Doppler played with partner Matthias Mellitzer from 2009 until the end of the end of the 2011 season. On 21 October 2011 Doppler and Mellitzer announced their split. Media and the press speculated that Doppler will team up with fellow Beach Volleyballer Alexander Horst who also announced his split with one-year partner Daniel Müllner in October 2011. A beach is a landform alongside a body of water which consists of loose particles. The particles composing a beach are typically made from rock, such as sand, gravel, shingle, pebbles, etc., or biological sources, such as mollusc shells or coralline algae. Sediments settle in different densities and structures, depending on the local wave action and weather, creating different textures, colors and gradients or layers of material. Though some beaches form on inland freshwater locations such as lakes and rivers, most beaches are in coastal areas where wave or current action deposits and reworks sediments. Erosion and changing of beach geologies happens through natural processes, like wave action and extreme weather events. Where wind conditions are correct, beaches can be backed by coastal dunes which offer protection and regeneration for the beach.
