Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres are a British band, formed by Pete Doherty (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and is his third musical project after the Libertines and Babyshambles. The band's first album, the self titled ''Peter Doherty and The Puta Madres'', was released on 26 April 2019. On 28 January 2019 they released their debut single, "Who's Been Having You Over", followed by "Paradise is Under Your Nose" on 5 April. History Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres was formed of members of Doherty's touring band from his 2016 "Eudaimonia" tour, including Drew McConnell, bass player in Doherty's previous band, Babyshambles. In November 2016 they flew to Argentina - recruiting Trampolene's Jack Jones as guitarist at the last minute - to rehearse, before playing their first show together under the Puta Madres name and returning to Europe to play the newly reopened Bataclan in Paris, before shows in London and Manchester. The Libertines
The Libertines are an English rock band, formed in London in 1997 by frontmen Carl Barât (vocals/guitar) and Pete Doherty (vocals/guitar). The band, centred on the songwriting partnership of Barât and Doherty, has also included John Hassall (bass), and Gary Powell (drums) for most of its recording career. The band was part of the garage rock revival and spearheaded the movement in the UK. The band gained some notoriety in the early 2000s, due to Doherty's use of illegal drugs and conflicts between Barât and Doherty. Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 and held on one Saturday (typically the third) every April and every Black Friday in November to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store". The day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores around the world. Rough Trade (shops)
Rough Trade is a group of independent record shops in the United Kingdom and the United States with headquarters in London. The first Rough Trade shop was opened in 1976 by Geoff Travis in the Ladbroke Grove district of West London. Travis reportedly took the name from the Canadian art punk/ new wave band Rough Trade. In 1978, the shop spawned Rough Trade Records, which became the label of bands from The Smiths to The Libertines. In 1982, the two separated and the shop remains an independent entity from the label, although links between the two are strong. At the same time, the shop moved from its original location on Kensington Park Road round the corner to Talbot Road. In 1988, a shop opened in Neal's Yard, Covent Garden. Jack Jones (born 14 February 1992) is a Welsh musician, songwriter and poet. He is the lead singer and guitarist in the alternative rock band Trampolene, and lead guitarist in Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres. He also performs music and spoken word poetry as a solo artist, being the subject of a BBC Radio 4 documentary titled "Another Swansea Poet" broadcast in 2019. Peter Doherty (born 12 March 1979) is an English musician, songwriter, actor, poet, writer, and artist. He is best known for being co-frontman of The Libertines, which he formed with Carl Barât in 1997. His other musical projects are indie band Babyshambles and Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres. Early life Pete Doherty was born in Hexham, Northumberland, to a military family. Trampolene are a Welsh alternative rock band from Swansea.
