Peter Bangs Vej
Peter Bangs Vej is a 2.2 km long street in Frederiksberg, a city in the Copenhagen area on the island of Zealand, Denmark. The direct continuation of Smallegade, it initially runs west, from Nordre Fasanvej, but then turns south along the east side of Damhus Lake to meet Roskildevej. There is a large sports complex on the south end of the street with the football club F.C. Copenhagen's training facilities as well as the multi-purpose venue K.B. Hallen. History A field track referred to as Klammerivejen (literally Vrewl Road) followed the same route from at least 1755. It is probably older since documents from 1688 mentions "Clammerijs Agre". A popular but unverifiable explanation of the name is that the road was too narrow for two carriages to pass and that it was therefore liable to cause disputes. Finsensvej is a major street in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The direct continuation of Howitzvej, it runs from Nordre Fasanvej in the east to the northern end of Sønderjyllands Allé in the west where it turns into Jernbane Allé on the municipal border with Vanløse. The street crosses Dalgas Boulevard and passes under the S-train network's Frederikssundbanen, Frederikssund radial. The modern Flintholm neighbourhood is located on the north side of the street and the Lindevangsparken, Lindevang Park on its south side. The White Houses (Danish: Den Hvide By) in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, Denmark, are a building society development originally built for workers at Frederiksberg Gasworks. It is located at Peter Bangs Vej, near Frederiksberg Gardens. History The first gasworks in Frederiksberg opened in 1860 and was located at H. C. Ørsteds Vej. When the installation of gas in private homes became common in the 1890s, it was decided to build a new plant at Flintholm, which opened in 1895. It was located in rural surroundings a few kilometres outside town and with no public transport available, it prompted a wish for new residences for its workers, located closer to their new workplace. Carl Lendorf
Carl William Frederik Lendorf (13 December 1839 - 29 September 1918) was a Danish architect and historicist who worked primarily in Odense. He also designed Copenhagen's 1898 St Thomas' Church. Biography He was born in 1839 in Copenhagen, the son of the carpenter Christian Gottfried Lendorf and Vilhelmine Nielsen. Lendorf became a student in 1855 at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Architecture School, where he went until 1863. He was employed by Ferdinand Meldahl on the construction of Fredericia Town Hall (1859) and later worked on the reconstruction of Frederiksborg Palace (1863–64), also under Meldahl. Lendorf managed his own firm in Odense (1864–83) and then in Copenhagen. He was drawing teacher at Odense Technical College (1846–83). Lendorf participated in the Nordic Exhibition of 1888. Nimbus (motorcycle)
The Nimbus was a Danish motorcycle produced from 1919 to 1960 by Fisker and Nielsen of Copenhagen, Denmark, also manufacturers of "Nilfisk" brand vacuum cleaners (now Nilfisk). Two basic models were produced, both with a 750 cc four-cylinder engine. History In partnership with H.M. Nielsen, Peder Andersen Fisker produced electric motors and, from around 1910, the first vacuum cleaners in Europe. Fisker believed he could develop a motorcycle that had its own form, and in late 1918 decided to construct a prototype to his own design.
