Persian Symphonic Music
Symphonic music in Iran encompasses Iranian musical pieces composed in the symphonic style. In addition to instrumental compositions, some of Iran's symphonic pieces are based on the country's folk songs, and some are based on poetry of both classical and contemporary Iranian poets. History Ali-Naqi Vaziri, one of the most prominent and influential musicians of the late Qajar and early Pahlavi periods, established a private music school in 1924, where he also created a school orchestra composed of his students, formed by a combination of the Iranian instrument of tar and some western instruments. Vaziri then founded an association named ''Music Club'' (), formed by a number of progressive-minded writers and scholars, where the school orchestra performed concerts that were conducted by himself. Behzad Ranjbaran ( fa, بهزاد رنجبران; born 1955, in Tehran, Iran) is a Persian composer, known for his virtuosic concertos and colorful orchestral music. Ranjbaran's music draws from his cultural roots, incorporating Persian musical modes and rhythms. Life and career Ranjbaran was born on July 1, 1955, In Tehran, Iran. He entered the Tehran Music Conservatory at the age of 9, studying the violin. In his teens while styding Western classical music, Ranjbaran began collecting folk music. André Hossein, born Aminulla Huseynov, also known as Aminollah Hossein ( fa, امینالله حسین; russian: Аминулла Гусейнов 1905, in Samarkand – 9 August 1983, in Paris) was a French composer of Persian or Azerbaijani origin and a tar soloist. Hossein was the first Persian composer who was able to present his works in international concerts. Alireza Motevaseli (Persian علیرضا متوسلی born 9 February 1992) is an Iranian musician. Early life He was born in Tehran, Iran and earned a Music M.A. from the Art University of Tehran as well as a B.A Orchestral conducting. He is also a composer, bassoonist and pianist. Alireza Mashayekhi
Alireza Mashayekhi is an Iranian musician, composer, conductor and academic. He is one of the first composers in Iran to represent avant-garde, modern and contemporary music. He is a pioneer of electroacoustic music in Iran. Early life Mashayekhi was born in Tehran in 1940. After graduating from the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, he went to Utrecht, the Netherlands, to study electronic and computer music, and attended lectures by Gottfried Michael Koenig. Ahmad Pejman
Ahmad Pejman ( fa, احمد پژمان ; born 1935), also spelled as Ahmad Pezhman, is an Iranian classical composer who resides in the United States. Pejman is notable for his operatic and symphonic works. Biography Born in 1935 in Lar, Iran, Pejman was exposed to the sounds and rhythms of southern Iran from early childhood. In high school he started violin lessons with Heshmat Sanjari and music theory with Hossein Nassehi. Persian literature ( fa, ادبیات فارسی, Adabiyâte fârsi, ) comprises oral compositions and written texts in the Persian language and is one of the world's oldest literatures. It spans over two-and-a-half millennia. Its sources have been within Greater Iran including present-day Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Caucasus, and Turkey, regions of Central Asia (such as Tajikistan) and South Asia where the Persian language has historically been either the native or official language.
