Penn, Oregon
Penn is an unincorporated community and former railway station in Lane County, in the U.S. state of Oregon. It was named for the Penn Timber Company, which operated in the vicinity. Penn lies along Penn Road between Walton and Flagg in the Central Oregon Coast Range east of Florence. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and location information about more than two million physical and cultural features, encompassing the United States and its territories; the Compact of Free Association, associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau; and Antarctica. Walton, Oregon
Walton is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is located halfway between Eugene and Florence on Oregon Route 126. Construction of Route 126 began in 1881, and after it crossed the Oregon Coast Range near Noti, it followed a tributary of the Siuslaw River named Walton Creek. Walton post office was established in 1884 to serve the settlers along the new route and postmaster James L. Atkinson named it for the stream. The stream was in turn named for Joshua J. Central Oregon Coast Range
The Central Oregon Coast Range is the middle section of the Oregon Coast Range, in the Pacific Coast Ranges Physiographic regions of the world, physiographic region, and located in the west-central portion of the state of Oregon, United States roughly between the Salmon River (Lincoln County, Oregon), Salmon River and the Umpqua River and the Willamette Valley and the Pacific Ocean. Florence, Oregon
Florence is a coastal city in Lane County, in the U.S. state of Oregon. It lies at the mouth of the Siuslaw River on the Pacific Ocean and about midway between Newport to the north and Coos Bay to the south along U.S. Route 101. As of August 14, 2023, the city had a total population of 9,553. History The Florence area was originally inhabited by the Siuslaw tribe of Native Americans.
