Pegasus (TV Series)
''Pegasus'' is a British period television drama series which aired in four parts on BBC 1 in 1969.Baskin p.91 It is a sequel of the 1968 series ''Triton'' which focused on two British naval officers battling a Napoleonic plot to invade Britain with the aid of submarines. In the sequel the two officers return to try and foil a ploy to use hot air balloons to bombard the naval base at Portsmouth at the time of Trafalgar. Rex Tucker
Rex Tucker (20 February 1913 – 10 August 1996) was a British television director in the 1950s and 1960s. He was born in March in the Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire. Tucker joined the BBC in 1937 to work in radio where he remained for several years before moving to TV work. In 1954 Tucker wrote and directed ''The Three Princes'' which featured future Doctor Who producer Barry Letts and actor Roger Delgado who later became well known for playing the Doctor's opponent The Master. In 1961 he wrote, produced and directed the historical serial ''Triton'', which was remade in 1968. Tucker also wrote a sequel '' Pegasus'' for broadcast in 1969. Amongst his work, he was a driving force during the formative stages of '' Doctor Who'' in 1963, acting as a caretaker producer prior to the arrival of Verity Lambert. Vice-admiral (Royal Navy), Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, 1st Duke of Bronte (29 September 1758 – 21 October 1805) was a British people, British flag officer in the Royal Navy. Terry Scully
Terry Scully (13 May 1932 – 17 April 2001) was a British theatre and television actor. After making his name in the theatre, from the 1960s onwards he became more known for TV work. In 1960 he starred in the BBC's production of ''An Age of Kings'', playing King Henry VI in several episodes. Other notable roles for Scully were as Horatio Nelson in the 1968 television series, ''Triton'', and as Bicket in the BBC's 1967 blockbuster adaptation of ''The Forsyte Saga''. Sir William Congreve
Lieutenant General Sir William Congreve, 1st Baronet (4 July 1742 – 30 April 1814) was a British military officer who improved artillery strength through gunpowder experiments. Personal life William Congreve was born in Stafford on 4 July 1742. He and his first wife, Rebecca Elmston, had four children together, two sons and two daughters. His eldest son, William Congreve, invented the Congreve Rocket. His second wife, Julia-Elizabeth Eyre, died aged 78 in 1831. Congreve was made a Baronet on 7 December 1812. He died on 30 April 1814. He was succeeded in his posts by his son. Military career By 1778 Congreve had obtained the rank of Captain and was appointed Superintendent of Military Machines. Anthony Patrick Caunter (born 22 September 1937) is a Retired British actor best known for his role as Jack Shepherd in the Yorkshire TV sitcom '' Queenie's Castle'' and also his portrayal of Roy Evans in ''EastEnders'' from 1994 to 2003. The second son of Annie Mary and Roy Hobert Caunter, Caunter attended Worthing and Westcliff High Schools, before service in the RAF and training as an actor at LAMDA. Philip Arthur Reeves (29 May 18935 December 1971), known professionally as Kynaston Reeves, was an English character actor who appeared in numerous films and many television plays and series. Early life Reeves was born in London on 29 May 1893 and was the first of two sons of Arthur Robert Reeves (born 1855) and Clarissa Mary Kynaston (b. 1864). His brother was John Edward. John Abineri
John Abineri (18 May 1928 – 29 June 2000) was an English actor. Born in London, he attended the Old Vic drama school and described himself as "Well educated from the age of five to eighteen". He spoke a number of languages (including German, Russian and French) fluently, which led to him being cast as a number of different nationalities. His extensive television performances included numerous roles in cult TV drama series, for which he is now probably best remembered. He had regular roles in '' Survivors'' as Hubert Goss, and in HTV's ''Robin of Sherwood'' as Herne the Hunter. Robert Fulton
Robert Fulton (November 14, 1765 – February 24, 1815) was an American engineer and inventor who is widely credited with developing the world's first commercially successful steamboat, the (also known as ''Clermont''). In 1807, that steamboat traveled on the Hudson River with passengers from New York City to Albany and back again, a round trip of , in 62 hours. The success of his steamboat changed river traffic and trade on major American rivers. The Battle of Trafalgar (21 October 1805) was a naval engagement between the British Royal Navy and the combined fleets of the French and Spanish Navies during the War of the Third Coalition (August–December 1805) of the Napoleonic Wars (1803–1815). As part of Napoleon's plans to invade England, the French and Spanish fleets combined to take control of the English Channel and provide the Grande Armée safe passage.
