Terry Scully
Terry Scully (13 May 1932 – 17 April 2001) was a British theatre and television actor. After making his name in the theatre, from the 1960s onwards he became more known for TV work. In 1960 he starred in the BBC's production of '' An Age of Kings'', playing King Henry VI in several episodes. Other notable roles for Scully were as Horatio Nelson in the 1968 television series, ''Triton'', and as Bicket in the BBC's 1967 blockbuster adaptation of ''The Forsyte Saga''. He also appeared in ''Dixon of Dock Green'', ''Z-Cars'', '' Softly, Softly'', ''Callan'', '' Public Eye'', '' The Venturers'', and ''Angels''. Like many actors of his generation, he is now probably best remembered for his roles in Cult TV series, due to their enduring appeal - even though they were no more notable, at the time, than his many other TV roles. Leigh, Greater Manchester
Leigh is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, Greater Manchester, England, on low-lying land northwest of Chat Moss. Within the boundaries of the historic county of Lancashire, Leigh was originally the centre of a large ecclesiastical parish covering six vills or townships. When the three townships of Pennington, Westleigh and Bedford merged in 1875, forming the Leigh Local Board District, Leigh became the official name for the town, although it had been applied to the area of Pennington and Westleigh around the parish church for many centuries. The town became an urban district in 1894 when part of Atherton was added. In 1899 Leigh became a municipal borough. The first town hall was built on King Street and replaced by the present building in 1907. Public Eye (TV Series)
''Public Eye'' is a British television drama series that ran from 1965 to 1975, for a total of seven series. It was produced by ABC Weekend TV for three series, and Thames Television for a further four. The series depicted the cases and investigations handled by the enquiry agent Frank Marker ( Alfred Burke), an unmarried loner who is in his early forties when the series begins. The title is a twist on the more usual "private eye". Background The series was created by writers Roger Marshall and Anthony Marriott with the aim of getting away from "square-jawed" heroes of the type featured in Hollywood movies—a wish shared by Alfred Burke, the actor chosen to play Marker. Hugh Thornton Walters (2 March 1939 – 13 February 2015) was a British actor. During the early 1990s, Hugh Walters appeared regularly on '' The Russ Abbot Show'', and he played a recurring role in the Channel 4 sitcom '' Chance in a Million''. His films include '' Catch Us If You Can'' (1965), '' Jules Verne's Rocket to the Moon'' (1967), '' Alfie Darling'' (1975), ''George and Mildred'' (1980), ''Brimstone and Treacle'' (1982), ''The Missionary'' (1982), ''1984'' (1984), '' The Innocent Sleep'' (1995) and '' Firelight'' (1997). In 1975, Hugh Walters replaced Terry Scully in the role of Vic Thatcher late in the first series of the BBC series '' Survivors''. ''Survivors'' is a British post-apocalyptic fiction drama television series created by Terry Nation and produced by Terence Dudley at the BBC, that broadcast from 1975 to 1977. It concerns the plight of a group of people who have survived an apocalyptic plague pandemic, which was accidentally released by a Chinese scientist and quickly spread across the world via air travel. Referred to as "The Death", the plague kills approximately 4,999 out of every 5,000 human beings on the planet within a matter of weeks of being released. The series, created by Donald Bull, had started out as an edition of ''Drama Playhouse'' in 1972 before being commissioned as an ongoing series.
