Paul Tilley
Paul Lawrence Tilley (born 3 July 1964) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy and St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s. Tilley was originally from West Preston and played Under-19s football for Fitzroy. He broke into the seniors for the first time in 1985 when he made four appearances. The following season he played in the first seven rounds and finished the year with nine games. At St Kilda in 1987, he had to wait until round 21 to play a senior game, coming into the side to replace ruckman Warwick Green. Tilley played with Wangaratta in the Ovens & Murray Football League in 1988, kicking 10 goals for the season, with Wangaratta finishing 4th. He returned to his original club West Preston in 1989 and in 1992 won the George LeBrocq Medal, given to the best and fairest player in the Diamond Valley Football League second division. West Preston Lakeside Football Club
West Preston Lakeside Football Club is an Australian rules football club in Reservoir, Victoria, currently competing in the Northern Football League. History The West Preston F.C. was formed in 1948 in the CYMS competition. It remained there until 1963, when it joined the very strong church based YCW National Football Association. The club had a reasonable amount of success and it was decided that it should field junior sides as well and from those early days more than 10 players from those sides went on to join the ranks of the then VFL. The club had continued to grow which led the club to apply for membership in the Diamond Valley Football League in 1981. The DVFL was one of, if not the strongest of Melbourne's suburban competitions and thus the successful application was a great moment for the club. The Northern Football Netball League (formerly known as the Diamond Valley Football League and later Northern Football League) is an Australian sports league based in the Diamond Valley region of suburban Melbourne, Victoria. The league regulates competitions of both sports, Australian rules football and netball in the region. The Ovens and Murray Football Netball League (O&MFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition containing ten clubs based in north-eastern Victoria, the southern Riverina region of New South Wales and the Ovens and Murray area. The name comes from the Ovens River, the river in the part of north-eastern Victoria covered by the league, and the Murray River, which separates Victoria and New South Wales. The league features three grades in the Australian rules football competition, with these being First-Grade, Reserve-Grade and Under 18s. In the netball competition, there are four grades, with these being A-Grade, B-Grade, C-Grade and Under 16s. Currently a home and away season consisting of eighteen rounds is played.
