Paul Lavers
Paul Lavers (born 1950) is a British film, television and stage actor. He has been a presenter for Anglia television and for several shopping channels. Early life and career Paul Lavers was born in Bristol in 1950, the son of Josephine (née Richards) and Frank Lavers. He was born with an esophageal condition that prevented him from eating solid food, and underwent surgery at 16 to repair it. Lavers gained his first acting experience while attending St. Brendan's College in Bristol. For about three years from the age of 11 he had a role in the BBC Radio Children's’ serial ''The Adventures of Clara Chuff''. On leaving St. Brendan's Lavers trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School where a fellow student was Pete Postlethwaite. Julia Foster (born 2 August 1943) is an English stage, screen, and television actress. Life and career Foster was born in Lewes, Sussex. Her first husband was Lionel Morton, once the lead singer with the 1960s pop band The Four Pennies. She is the mother of television celebrity Ben Fogle with her second husband, veterinarian Bruce Fogle. Foster also built up her own antique furniture business. ''You're Only Young Twice'' was a British TV sitcom made and broadcast on the ITV network by Yorkshire Television from 6 September 1977 to 4 August 1981. Plot Set in Paradise Lodge retirement home, ''You're Only Young Twice'' was created and written by the writing partnership of Michael Ashton and Pam Valentine. It starred Peggy Mount as Flora Petty, with Pat Coombs as her sidekick Cissie Lupin. Paradise Lodge was described by Network DVD as "a superior residence for retired gentlefolk". The majority of the 31 episodes (broadcast throughout the show's four-year run) centre on Flora's attempts to thwart the long-suffering staff, led by Miss Milton (Charmian May). ''Wilde Alliance'' is a British television series produced by Yorkshire Television for the ITV network in 1978. The programme was a light-hearted mystery series created by Ian Mackintosh about a husband-and-wife pair of amateur detectives, Rupert and Amy Wilde (played by John Stride and Julia Foster). Rupert is a crime novelist, while his wife Amy is his PA, as well as being an artist and designer in her own right. The Leicester Haymarket Theatre is a theatre in Leicester, England, next to the Haymarket Shopping Centre on Belgrave Gate in Leicester City centre. History The Haymarket Theatre was opened by Sir Ralph Richardson and the opening season started with ''The Recruiting Officer'' on 17 October 1973, ''Economic Necessity'' on 24 October and ''Cabaret'' on 21 November.
