''Q-112 Abra'' was a motor torpedo boat of the United States Army during World War II as part of the Offshore Patrol based at Manila. History In 1935, the Commonwealth Government passed the National Defense Act which was criticized because it did not include funding for a Commonwealth navy instead relying on the United States Asiatic Fleet. Determined to develop an indigenous naval defense, the government authorized the creation of its own naval patrol unit consisting of a squadron of three wooden-hull, fast patrol torpedo boats with the goal to reach 36 boats by 1946. To avoid overlap with the Asiatic Fleet, the unit was to be part of a new seagoing arm of the Philippine Army under the United States Army Forces in the Far East. Captain Enrique L. Jurado (July 15, 1911 – October 14, 1944) was an officer in the Philippine Army – Offshore Patrol during the Second World War. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Class of 1934, Foreign Midshipman who returned to the Philippines to teach at the Philippine Military Academy. Later joined its Army Coastal Defense force, the Offshore Patrol (OSP), as an instructor to its first class of graduates. This is a list of islands in the Greater Manila Area in the Philippines. There are several small islands located within the Greater Manila Area, particularly along the coast of Manila Bay, both natural and artificial. Many of these islands were formed by the Pasig River delta and consist of sand and mudflats. Artificial islands have been built particularly in Tondo's North Port area, the Navotas fish port area, and the Las Piñas– Parañaque reclamation area.
