Patrizia (singer)
Patrizia (born Patrizia Dioguardi) is an Italian-Canadian independent musical artist who created and performs symphonic rock. She is the recipient of a 2004 SOCAN award and was a finalist in the Toronto Emergenza competition. Patrizia is a musical visionary that some consider a musical genius. Early life Patrizia was born in San Giovanni Teatino, Italy, to Mario and Giuseppina Dioguardi. Her family later moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, where her father worked as a cleaner at the Thunder Bay International Airport. San Giovanni Teatino
San Giovanni Teatino is a ''comune'' and town in the Province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region of Italy. Until 1894 this comune was known as Forcabobolina. Situated on a hill overlooking the valley of the river Pescara (Aterno-Pescara), in recent years the place has undergone an industrial development, especially in the area of Sambuceto (San Giovanni Teatino). Platinum Blonde, known briefly as The Blondes, is a Canadian rock band that formed in Toronto, Ontario in 1979. Vocalist Mark Holmes has been the only consistent member of the band since its inception. They are an image conscious band that took advantage of the advent of the music video. In his 2016 book, ''Is This Live?: Inside the Wild Early Years of MuchMusic: The Nation's Music Station'', Canadian songwriter and former MuchMusic VJ, Christopher Ward said of the band: "If ever there was a Canadian band that was tailor-made for the video era, it was Platinum Blonde." Zombie (The Cranberries Song)
"Zombie" is a protest song by Irish alternative rock band the Cranberries, written by the band's lead singer Dolores O'Riordan in memory of Johnathan Ball and Tim Parry, who were killed in the 1993 Warrington bombings. It was released on 19 September 1994 as the lead single from their second studio album, ''No Need to Argue'', two weeks ahead of the album's release. Music critics have long recognised "Zombie" as "a masterpiece of alternative rock", as well as a grunge number uncharacteristic of the band's other work. The Cranberries
The Cranberries were an Irish rock band formed in Limerick, Ireland. Originally named the Cranberry Saw Us, the band were formed in 1989 by lead singer Niall Quinn, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan and drummer Fergal Lawler. Quinn was replaced as lead singer by Dolores O'Riordan in 1990 and they changed their name to the Cranberries. The band classified themselves as an alternative rock group, but incorporated aspects of indie rock, jangle pop, folk rock, post-punk and pop rock into their sound. "Creep" is the debut single by the English rock band Radiohead, released on 21 September 1992. It appeared on their debut studio album, ''Pablo Honey'' (1993). Thom Yorke's lyrics express an obsessive, self-destructive sexual attraction. When the song moves to the chorus, Jonny Greenwood produces blasts of guitar noise. Radiohead took elements from the 1974 song "The Air That I Breathe"; following legal action, Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood are credited as cowriters. Radiohead had not planned to release "Creep", and recorded it at the suggestion of the producers, Sean Slade and Paul Q. Kolderie, while they were working on other songs. Kolderie convinced their record label, EMI, to release "Creep" as a single. It was not initially a success, but achieved radio play in Israel and became popular on American alternative rock radio. Steve Thompson (musician)
Steve Thompson is an American record producer and remixer who has worked with artists including Guns N' Roses, Life of Agony, Tesla, Madonna, John Lennon, Wu-Tang Clan and Korn. Biography Steve Thompson is a native New Yorker. As a youth, he worked as a DJ in New York City. He was mentored by music moguls David Geffen and Clive Davis early in his career. At Geffen Records, he got his first real break in the rock genre as a mixer on the 1987 Guns N' Roses album ''Appetite for Destruction'' that would become Geffen's most successful album. He is a long-time collaborator with mixing engineer Michael Barbiero, with whom he shares credits on albums such as ''Appetite for Destruction'' and ''The Great Radio Controversy'' by Tesla. ''Tosca'' is an opera in three acts by Giacomo Puccini to an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. It premiered at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Teatro Costanzi in Rome on 14 January 1900. The work, based on Victorien Sardou's 1887 French-language dramatic play, ''La Tosca'', is a melodramatic piece set in Rome in June 1800, with the Kingdom of Naples's control of Rome threatened by Napoleon's Campaigns of 1800 in the French Revolutionary Wars#Italy, invasion of Italy. Habanera (" usic or danceof Havana") is the popular name for "" (; "Love is a rebellious bird"), an aria from Georges Bizet's 1875 opéra comique '' Carmen''. It is the entrance aria of the title character, a mezzo-soprano role, in scene 5 of the first act. Background The score of the aria was adapted from the habanera "El Arreglito ou la Promesse de mariage", by the Spanish musician Sebastián Iradier, first published in 1863, which Bizet thought to be a folk song. When others told him he had used something written by a composer who had died ten years earlier,''Grove's Dictionary of Music and Musicians'', 5th ed. 1954 he added a note about its derivation in the first edition of the vocal score which he himself prepared.
