Patliputra Natya Mahotsav
Patliputra Natya Mahotsav (PNM), started in 1985, is an annual theatre festival organized in the Patna, India by the ''Prangan'', a Cultural Organization, with the help of Union and state ministries of culture. held annually (usually in the February or march) at the Kalidas Rangalaya. The first Patliputra Natya Mahotsav was held in 1985 and 2023 was its 37th edition. Kalidas Rangalaya
''Kalidas Rangalaya'' is one of Bihar's well-known theatres and a center for cultural performances in Patna, India. It is in the southeast corner of Gandhi Maidan and is run by the Bihar Art Theater which is the regional centre of International Theatre Institute, UNESCO, Paris. History Named after Kālidāsa, it was established on 9 October 1974 by Anil Kumar Mukherjee. It is built on land given by the Government of Bihar to Bihar Art Theater to promote and pursue theatrical and cultural activities in the state capital. Overview Today the Kalidas Rangalaya consists of a stage, auditorium, Bihar Institute of Dramatics office and a cafeteria, known as 'Annapurna'. Rajgir Mahotsav or festival, formerly Rajgir Nritaya (Dance) Mahotsav, is a festival of dance and music. It is an annual three-day event in Rajgir, Bihar, India, that was first held in 1986. It is organized by the Nalanda district administration with the help of the Government of Bihar’s Department of Culture and Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation. Overview Bindeshwari Dubey, the then Chief Minister of Bihar, had inaugurated the festival in Swarna Bhadar area of Rajgir on 4 April 1986. Sonepur Cattle Fair
Sonepur Cattle Fair ( hi, सोनपुर पशु मेला) is held on Kartik Poornima (the full moon day) over the months of November and December in Sonepur, Bihar, on the confluence of river Ganges(Gandak). It is also known as Harihar Kshetra Mela. To date, it is the biggest cattle fair in Asia and usually lasts from between fifteen days to one month in duration. It was historically started during Vedic period. The Sonepur Cattle Fair used to attract traders from places as far away as Tamil Nadu and Delhi. In 2018, the Fair started on the 21st of November and continued until the 22nd of December. Patna Sahib Mahotsav (festival), is an annual two-day cultural event at Patna, India. It is organized by the Tourism Department of Government of Bihar, is usually celebrated around Baisakhi near Takht Sri Patna Sahib, the birthplace of tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. Overview The first edition of mahotsav was started in 2008 at the Mangal Talab of the Manoj Kamalia Stadium, on the eve of Baisakhi. Since then, it is an annual event in the calendar of Bihar Government. However, in 2009, the event was not celebrated due to 2009 Indian general election.
