Patio Theater
The Patio Theater is a music venue and movie theater located at 6008 W. Irving Park Road on the northwest side of Chicago, Illinois in the Portage Park neighborhood. The building was built in 1927 as a movie theater. Chris Bauman took over the operations of Patio Theater in 2018 and became owner by the end of 2019. The 1,500 seat theater hosts concerts and comedy events featuring local and internationally recognized talent. Musicians represent a wide range of genres, and notable performers include: Juice Wrld, Puddle of Mudd, Coolio, The Wailin’ Jennys, Raheem DeVaughn, Bone Thugs N Harmony. Patio also plans to program a full monthly calendar of popular, independent and local movies including feature films, documentaries, cartoons, and silent films. Irving Park Road
Illinois Route 19 (abbreviated IL-19, or simply Illinois 19) is a major east–west arterial road in northeastern Illinois, United States. It runs from Illinois Route 25 (Liberty St.) in Elgin, to Lake Shore Drive (U.S. Route 41) on the north side of Chicago. Illinois 19 is long. For much of its length, it is also known as Irving Park Road and Chicago-Elgin Road. Congress Theater
The Congress Theater is a historic movie palace in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago. Fridstein and Company designed it in 1926 for the movie theater operator Lubliner and Trinz. It features ornate exterior and interior design work in a combination of the Classical Revival and Italian Renaissance styles. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017. In its heyday, the Congress Theater could seat over 2,904 moviegoers. The theater block also had 17 retail storefronts with 56 apartments above. More recently, the theater operated as a 3,500-capacity live music venue. For years the building was a common and popular concert venue. The Bartola Musical Instrument Company of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA, was a producer of theater pipe organs during the age of silent movies. History The company was founded in 1918 by Dan Barton, who was from Amherst, Wisconsin. The sixth largest builder of theater instruments in the nation, Bartola focused almost exclusively on the Midwest market. Barton later recalled, "We decided to work only a limited territory so we could give prompt service to all our installations. his territory includedWisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa, Indiana and Ohio. No installation was more than an overnight sleeper ride from Chicago."
