Parti Du Socialisme Chrétien
The Parti du socialisme chrétien (PSC) (known in English as the Christian Socialist Party) was a fringe political party in the Canada, Canadian province of Quebec. It fielded 103 candidates in the 1985 Quebec general election. Despite its name, the PSC had no connection with Canada's social democratic political tradition. It was established by Jacques Paquette, a former opioid use disorder, heroin addict who operated drug rehabilitation, drug treatment centres throughout Quebec in the 1980s. The party was primarily focused on drug issues, supporting both the legalization of cannabis (drug), cannabis and the introduction of the death penalty for traffickers in hard drugs. On one occasion, Paquette said that he would establish a leftist dictatorship in a "free Quebec" to remove heroin dealers from the province. Opioid Use Disorder
Opioid use disorder (OUD) is a substance use disorder characterized by cravings for opioids, continued use despite physical and/or psychological deterioration, increased tolerance with use, and withdrawal symptoms after discontinuing opioids. Opioid withdrawal symptoms include nausea, muscle aches, diarrhea, trouble sleeping, agitation, and a low mood. Addiction and dependence are important components of OUD. Risk factors for OUD include a history of opioid misuse, current opioid misuse, young age, socioeconomic status, race, untreated psychiatric disorders, and environments that promote misuse (social, family, professional, etc.). Complications may include opioid overdose, suicide, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, and problems meeting social or professional responsibilities. Drug rehabilitation is the process of medical or psychotherapeutic treatment for dependency on psychoactive substances such as alcohol, prescription drugs, and street drugs such as cannabis, cocaine, heroin or amphetamines. Hull (provincial Electoral District)
Hull is provincial electoral riding located in the Outaouais region of Quebec, Canada. It includes the entire Hull sector of the city of Gatineau, as well as some additional territory. It was created for the 1919 election from part of the Ottawa electoral district.
