Parkson Holdings Berhad (doing business as Parkson; ; ) is an Asian-based department store operator with an extensive network of 131 stores as of 2017, spanning approximately 2.1 million m2 of retail space across cities in Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar. Stores in Malaysia Parkson opened its first store at Sungei Wang Plaza in 1987. Since then, new stores have been rolled out across the country at approximately two stores per annum over the past 27 years. The flagship store, Parkson Pavilion, was opened in 2007. As of 29 July 2021, Parkson has 41 stores in Malaysia (38 Parkson, 3 Parkson Elite). William Cheng
Tan Sri William Cheng Heng Jem or William H.J. Cheng (; born 1943) is the chairman of Lion Group Malaysia, a conglomerate having diversified businesses encompassing retail, property development, mining, steel, agriculture and computer. He is known for introducing the Parkson department store chain in 1987. Bukit Bintang (; stylised as Bintang Walk or Starhill, the latter being a translation of the Malay language, Malay name) is the shopping and entertainment district of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It encompasses Jalan Bukit Bintang (''Bukit Bintang Road'' in English language, English) and its immediate surrounding areas. Lion Group Malaysia is headed by chairman and chief executive officer William Cheng. Cheng's grandfather founded Lion as a small trading company in Singapore after leaving China in the 1920s. Bukit Jalil is an affluent suburb in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is bounded by the National Sports Complex on the east, the Shah Alam Expressway on the north, city boundaries to the west, and the Puchong–Sungai Besi Highway as well as city boundaries to the south. Jalan Klang Lama or Old Klang Road, Federal Route 2 is the oldest and the first major road in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was built before the Federal Highway was built in 1965.
