Panton Hill Football Club
Panton Hill Football Club is an Australian rules football club in Panton Hill, Victoria, currently competing in the Northern Football League. History The club was founded in 1926, and affiliated with the Bourke - Evelyn Football League. The club originally wore a maroon jumper with a white Vee. In 1929 and 1930, they played in the Diamond Valley Football League. The club first premiership was in 1934 against Yarra Glen who were undefeated until the Grand Final. The club only played the 1938 season and part of 1939 and was in recess for the remainder of the period. The club re-emerged in 1947 in the newly formed seven member club Panton Hill Football League, Panton Hill, Wallan East, Plenty Rovers, Hurstbridge, Kinglake, Whittlesea and St Andrews. Panton Hill wore a different designed jumper navy blue with a red yoke, but again changed to black with red sash as the other design was difficult to come by. Coolaroo is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Hume local government area. Coolaroo recorded a population of 3,193 at the 2021 census. History Coolaroo is thought to be derived from an Aboriginal word meaning 'brown snake'. The area was acquired by the Housing Commission of Victoria in 1951 for housing estates, with construction not commencing until 1966. The Northern Football Netball League (formerly known as the Diamond Valley Football League and later Northern Football League) is an Australian sports league based in the Diamond Creek, Victoria, Diamond Valley region of suburban Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Victoria. The league regulates competitions of both sports, Australian rules football and netball in the region. Yarrambat is a town in Victoria, Australia, 24 km north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Nillumbik local government area. Yarrambat recorded a population of 1,602 at the . Yarrambat is located within Greater Melbourne, beyond the Melbourne metropolitan area Urban Growth Boundary. History Prominent as a gold mining area in the late 19th century, much of the land was surveyed and cleared for farming once the mining boom subsided. Hurstbridge Football Club is an Australian rules football club located 34 km north east of Melbourne in the township of Hurstbridge. The club currently competes in the Northern Football League. History From the 1890s, social football was played at Lew Curtis's Flat, Hurstbridge. In 1914, the Hurstbridge Football Club was founded and matches were played in the Bourke Evelyn Football League. Hurstbridge transferred to the Heidelberg District Football Association for just the one season in 1921 before returning to the Bourke-Evelyn Football League. The Club moved activities to the newly developed Memorial Park (now known as the Ben Frilay Oval) in 1922. Panton Hill is a town in Victoria, Australia, 32 km north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Nillumbik local government area. Panton Hill recorded a population of 1,063 at the 2021 census. History Originally called Kingstown, the area experienced population growth in the mid-1850s during the Victorian gold rush when prospectors mined the hills around the town known as the Caledonia Goldfields. Hurstbridge is a town in Victoria, Australia, 28 km north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Nillumbik local government area. Hurstbridge recorded a population of 3,554 at the 2021 census. Hurstbridge lies between Wattle Glen to the south, Arthur's Creek to the north, and Panton Hill to the east. History Before colonisation, the land around Hurstbridge was occupied by the Wurundjeri-Willam clan, the Aboriginal Australian people of the Woiwurrung language group.
