Pantón is a municipality of northwestern Spain, in the province of Lugo; in a mountainous district, watered by the rivers Miño, Cabe and Sil River. Its population in 2002 was 3,377. Livestock is extensively reared, and large quantities of wheat, wine, oats, and potatoes are produced. The other industries are distilling and linen manufacture. Panton is a village in the civil parish of East Barkwith, in the East Lindsey of district, Lincolnshire, England. It is situated approximately north-east from the county town of Lincoln. Panton is a town in Addison County, Vermont, United States. The population was 646 at the 2020 census. Geography Panton is located in northwestern Addison County, along the New York–Vermont border. The western side of the town extends into Lake Champlain, and Dead Creek is a broad water body that crosses the entire town south to north near the town center. Otter Creek forms much of the eastern border of the town. Neighboring towns and cities are Ferrisburgh to the north, Vergennes to the northeast, Waltham to the east, and Addison to the south. Bordering across Lake Champlain, which is approximately wide in this area, is the town of Westport, New York. Panton Hill is a town in Victoria, Australia, 32 km north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Nillumbik local government area. Panton Hill recorded a population of 1,063 at the 2021 census. History Originally called Kingstown, the area experienced population growth in the mid-1850s during the Victorian gold rush when prospectors mined the hills around the town known as the Caledonia Goldfields. Panton Arms Hotel, Pentraeth
The Panton Arms Hotel, in Pentraeth, Anglesey, is a Grade II listed building situated in the centre of the village. It is named after the Panton family, former landowners from the nearby Plas Gwyn estate. It was built in early-mid 18th century and was listed in 1969. Panton Hill Football Club is an Australian rules football club in Panton Hill, Victoria, currently competing in the Northern Football League. History The club was founded in 1926, and affiliated with the Bourke - Evelyn Football League. The club originally wore a maroon jumper with a white Vee. In 1929 and 1930, they played in the Diamond Valley Football League. The club first premiership was in 1934 against Yarra Glen who were undefeated until the Grand Final. The club only played the 1938 season and part of 1939 and was in recess for the remainder of the period. The club re-emerged in 1947 in the newly formed seven member club Panton Hill Football League, Panton Hill, Wallan East, Plenty Rovers, Hurstbridge, Kinglake, Whittlesea and St Andrews. Panton, Leslie & Company was a company of Scottish merchants active in trading in the Bahamas and with the Native Americans of what is now the Southeastern United States during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The origins of Panton, Leslie & Company are in the firm Moore and Panton, in Savannah, Georgia, of which William Panton became a partner in 1774. In 1775, the British, who had acquired Florida by the terms of the Treaty of Paris in 1763, chose him to do their trading with the Creeks. He then joined with John Forbes to create Panton and Forbes. Politically, Panton was a loyalist; he was not in favor of American independence. When Britain in 1783 accepted American independence, he had to leave the country, and his property in the United States was confiscated. As a new base for trading with the Native Americans he chose Florida, which was just completing 20 years as a British colony. Its capital, St. Augustine, was not far from Savannah.
