Pan Gongkai
Pan Gongkai (; born 1947), is a Chinese painter, and the current president of China Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing. He was also the former president of the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. Life Pan is the son of the painter Pan Tianshou. The Central Academy of Fine Arts or CAFA is an art academy under the direct charge of the Ministry of Education of China. The Manila Bulletin calls the school "China’s most prestigious and renowned art academy". It is one of the most selective universities in the country and turns away more than 90% of applicants every year. China Academy Of Art
China Academy of Art (), also translated as China National Academy of Fine Arts, was founded in Hangzhou in 1928 by the government of the Republic of China (1912–49), Republic of China and the renowned educator Cai Yuanpei. It was the first art university and first graduate school in Chinese history. In 2016, the Academy has been approved to be jointly-administrated by Zhejiang Provincial Government, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture. Pan Tianshou
Pan Tianshou (; 1897–1971) was a Chinese painter and art educator. Pan was born in Guanzhuang, Ninghai County, Zhejiang Province, and graduated from Zhejiang First Normal School (now Hangzhou High School). He studied Chinese traditional painting with Wu Changshuo, and built the foundation of Chinese traditional painting education. He was persecuted during the Cultural Revolution until his death in 1971. Ninghai County () is a county under the administration of Ningbo, in the east of Zhejiang province, People's Republic of China. It covers a land area of and a sea area of and has a coastline.
