Pallacanestro Trapani
Pallacanestro Trapani, known for sponsorship reasons as 2B Control Trapani, is an Italian professional basketball team that is based in Trapani, Sicily. The club's full name is Club Sportivo Pallacanestro Trapani. The club plays in the second division Serie A2, as of the 2015-16 season. Season by season ''Note: Statistics are correct as of 8 October 2020.'' Arena The club played in the Palestra "Dante Alighieri" (capacity:300) from 1970 to 1982 and the Palestra "Tenente Alberti" (capacity:800) from 1982 to 1986. After spending the 1986-87 season in the Marsala based Palasport "Fortunato Bellina" (capacity:600), the side moved back to Trapani in the Palasport "Palagranata" (capacity:3,800) where it stayed until 1997. Since then Trapani has played in the 4,575 seater PalaIlio. In August 2015, its name became the Pala Conad for sponsorship reasons. Serie A2 Basket
Serie A2, known for sponsorship reasons as Serie A2 Old Wild West, is a men's basketball league in Italy. It constitutes the second-tier of the Italian league pyramid, below the first division LBA and above the third division Serie B, with promotion/relegation occurring between these leagues. It is run by the Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro (LNP), itself regulated by the FIP, the Italian federation. Names History The league was created in May 1974, by the Lega Basket, the organisation in charge of running the LBA (to this day), that decided to create a new second division with 10 clubs. The two that were relegated during that season, and 8 from the now-former second tier Serie B, chosen with an on and off the court criteria. Franjo Arapović
Franjo Arapović (born 2 June 1965) is a Croatian former professional basketball player who played as a center. A tall, he won the silver medal with the Croatia national team at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Four years earlier he was a member of the Yugoslavia national team, that won the silver medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Arapović was born in Mostar, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia. In his professional career, he played for KK Lokomotiva Mostar, after which he moved to Croatian clubs Cibona, Croatia Osiguranje Split and Zrinjevac. Riccardo Sales
Riccardo Sales (14 August 1941 – 14 May 2006) was an Italian basketball player and coach. From 1969-1974 he coached Pallacanestro Milano 1958, before joining Nuova Pallacanestro Gorizia for several season. In 1977, Sales moved to Basket Brescia where he stayed until 1983. In 1979, Sales began a term vice coaching the Italy national basketball team, Italian national basketball team, ending in 1988. From 1983-1986 he coached Pallacanestro Varese, and moved to Pallacanestro Treviso until 1990. In 1990-1991, Sales returned to his old club Basket Brescia, and joined Pallacanestro Trapani for the 1992-3 season. His final term coaching was the Italy women's national basketball team, women's national team in 1994 until 2000, during which he led them to the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and to three EuroBasket tournaments in 1995, 1997 and 1999. Alex Legion (born November 16, 1988) is an American professional basketball player who last played for CD Valdivia of the Liga Nacional de Básquetbol de Chile before ending his career in 2019. College career He signed out of high school with the University of Michigan, but withdrew his commitment when Wolverine head coach Tommy Amaker was fired. He then enrolled at the University of Kentucky but transferred to the University of Illinois during his first college semester.
