Paktofonika
Paktofonika was a Polish hip hop group from Katowice and Mikołów, which debuted with the album ''Kinematografia'' in 2000. The name Paktofonika comes from the words ''pakt'' (''pact'') and ''fonika'' (''phonics''), from which derives the idea of "A pact made alongside sounds from a speaker", created by band's founders, Magik and Rahim. A film inspired by its story, titled ''Jesteś Bogiem'' and directed by Leszek Dawid, was released in May 2012. It became a box-office hit and the highest-selling Polish film of the year. It also won several film awards. Kinematografia
''Kinematografia'' is the debut studio album by Polish hip-hop trio Paktofonika, released on December 18, 2000, on Gigant Records. The material for the project was being gathered for over two years from 1998 to 2000. The album was promoted with a single "Ja to ja", released on November 1, 2000. The album peaked at number 2 on the Polish OLiS chart, almost 12 years after its original release. ''Kinematografia'' received Fryderyk award in "Best hip-hop album" category. T-Mobile Music placed the track "Chwile ulotne" on the list of "120 most important Polish hip-hop songs". 8 days after the album was released Magik committed suicide by jumping out of the window of his apartment situated on the ninth floor of the building, in Katowice. His death was extensively commented on media and in hip-hop community. ''Kinematografia'' is considered to be one of the most important album in Polish hip-hop history. Rahim (rapper)
Sebastian Salbert better known as Rahim (born November 17, 1978, in Katowice) is a Polish rapper, producer and entrepreneur. He is the owner of record company MaxFloRec, the former member of groups such as 3xKlan, MZD, Erka and Paktofonika. Since 2003 He has been the one half of a duo Pokahontaz which he creates with Fokus. He has released several albums under his alter ego Straho. In 2001 he, along with his then group Paktofonika, received the Polish music award Fryderyk in ''Album of the year - hip-hop'' category for their album ''Kinematografia''. In 2011, magazine Machina classified him at number 25 on list of "30 best Polish rappers". He has a younger brother, Minx, who is a beatboxer and won Polish championship in beatbox in 2007. Magik (rapper)
Piotr Łuszcz (18 March 1978 – 26 December 2000), also known as Magik (pol. ''Magician''), was a Polish rapper and record producer. From 1994 to 1998 he was a member of the Polish hip hop group Kaliber 44. After he left Kaliber 44 he formed the group Paktofonika with Sebastian Salbert (stage name "Rahim"), and Wojciech Alszer (stage name "Fokus"). Łuszcz committed suicide on 26 December 2000 at around 6.15 a.m. by jumping from the window of his ninth-floor apartment. Kaliber 44
Kaliber 44 is a hip hop band formed at the end of 1994 in Katowice, Poland. The group is dubbed the most influential Polish hip hop band, while their so-called ''hardcore psycho rap'' style is the most prominent. As revealed by Abradab in an interview aired on TVP, "the name comes from the time we weren't completely sane and played gangsta". Later on members provided a revised interpretation: first part of the name indicates the calibre of problems the group sings about. Filmweb is an online database of information related to films, television series, actors and film crew personnel. Since 2011, the database also contains video games. Filmweb was launched on March 18, 1998. It is a Polish-language site, and the largest Polish film database. History Filmweb was created by Artur Gortych, and launched on March 18, 1998. On January 20, 2000, it became the first Polish website available through Wireless Application Protocol. In 2005, Filmweb PRO (aimed at entertainment professionals) was launched.
