Pakeezah (soundtrack)
''Pakeezah'' is a 1972 film directed by Kamal Amrohi. The film is remembered as one of the most elaborate musicals of Indian Cinema. Development ''Pakeezah'' was conceptualised in 1954 as a Black & White venture. The mujra ''Inhin logon ne'' was shot on July 16, 1956 as written on the reel under Kamal Pictures. The film was eventually released under Kamal Pictures Pvt Ltd in 1972. It was '' Mirza Ghalib's'' music, which paved the path for Ghulam Mohammad to compose for Kamal Amrohi's dream project. After seeing ''Mirza Ghalib'', Kamal Amrohi decided on Ghulam though earlier he had C. Ramchandra in mind, who was on cloud nine after the success of '' Anarkali''. Majrooh Sultanpuri was supposed to write most of the songs of the film however, in between, he got invitation for a ''Mushaira'' and he wanted to attend it. Meena Kumari
Meena Kumari (born Mahjabeen Bano; 1 August 1933 – 31 March 1972) was an Indian actress and poet, who worked in Hindi films. Popularly known as ''The Tragedy Queen'', she was active between 1939 and 1972. Kumari is widely considered one of the greatest actress of Indian cinema. In a career spanning 33 years, she starred in over 90 films until her premature death in 1972. Meena Kumari won four Filmfare Awards in the Best Actress category. She was the recipient of the inaugural Filmfare Best Actress Award for ''Baiju Bawra'' in 1954 and had a consecutive win in the second Filmfare Awards (1955) for '' Parineeta''. ''Mitron'' (; ) is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film directed by Nitin Kakkar, written by Sharib Hashmi and produced by Vikram Malhotra under the Abundantia Entertainment banner. An official remake of the 2016 Telugu film ''Pelli Choopulu'', it stars Jackky Bhagnani with Kritika Kamra, Pratik Gandhi and Shivam Parekh in their film debuts. Sarangi
The sārangī is a bowed, short-necked string instrument played in traditional music from South Asia – Punjabi folk music, Rajasthani folk music, and Boro folk music (there known as the ''serja'') – in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. It is said to most resemble the sound of the human voice through its ability to imitate vocal ornaments such as ''gamaks'' (shakes) and ''meends'' (sliding movements). The sarangi (Nepali) is a different instrument, traditional to Nepal. History Sarangi derives its name from the bow of Lord Vishnu and probably as it is played with a bow it is named sarangi. Ameen Sayani
Ameen Sayani is a popular former radio announcer from India. He achieved fame and popularity all across the Indian Subcontinent when he presented his ''Binaca Geetmala'' program of hits over the airwaves of Radio Ceylon. He is one of the most imitated announcers even today. His style of addressing the crowd with "Behno aur Bhaiyo " (meaning "sisters and brothers") as against the traditional "Bhaiyo aur Bahno" is still treated as an announcement with a melodious touch. Yakub (actor)
Yakub Khan (3 April 1903 – 24 August 1958), known as Yakub, was an Indian actor born into a Pathan family in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. He is best known for his comic and comic villainous roles. He began his career with roles as an extra, but eventually was cast in more important roles, frequently playing the parts of heroes and villains. He became one of the most renowned screen villains, while achieving equal success in comedy and character roles. Yakub appeared in over 100 films. Early life Yakub ran away from home at an early age, and performed odd jobs, such as a motor mechanic and table waiter, before joining the crew of the ship S.S. Madura as a kitchen worker. He left the ship after travelling to various places, like London, Brussels and Paris, then returned to Calcutta, where he worked as a tourist guide, among other jobs. ''Aabroo'' (Hindi: आबरू, transl. reputation) is a Bollywood film. It was released in 1943. The film was directed by Nazir and starred Sitara Devi, Yakub, Masud, Nazir Ahmed, Laddan and Chandabai. Ghulam Mohammed (1903 – 17 March 1968) was an Indian film score composer, who is notable for Hindi musicals such as '' Pardes'' (1950), '' Mirza Ghalib'' (1954), ''Shama'' (1961) and '' Pakeezah'' (1972).
