Pagrati BC
Pagrati B.C. (alternate spellings: Pagkrati, Pagratiou, Pagkratiou, Pangrati, Pangratiou, Pangkrati, Pangkratiou) is a Greek professional basketball club. The club is located in the Pangrati neighborhood of Athens, Greece. The team competes in the Greek 2nd Division. History The A.O. Pagrati Athens parent sports athletic association was founded in 1929. The sport club's basketball department, Pagrati B.C., was founded in 1938. Around the era of 1950, was the basketball club's first peak period, which established it as one of the big Greek clubs of that era. In 1979, the team was in a downward spiral, as it was downgraded to the Greek 3rd Division. In 1988, the club returned to the top-tier level Greek League, and it stayed in the top Greek Division for the next 6 years. After that 6-year run in the Greek top-tier level ( A1), the club again struggled in the lower Greek divisions, until it was promoted up to the Greek 2nd Division, for the 2006–07 season. The Greek A2 Basket League ( el, Ελληνική Α2 Μπάσκετ Λιγκ, link=no), is a professional basketball league in Greece. It is the 2nd-tier level of pro competition, among clubs in the country. It is organized by the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). The Greek B Basket League, or Greek B Basketball League (Greek: Ελληνική Β Μπασκετ Λιγκ), is a national basketball league in Greece. It is also known as the Second National Championship, B National Championship, Second National League, B National League, Third Division, and in Greek, (Βήτα Εθνική καλαθοσφαίρισης) (Beta Ethniki Basketball). It is organized by the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). It is the 3rd-tier level of the basketball league system in Greece, and was founded in its current form in 1986. COVID-19 Pandemic In Greece
The COVID-19 pandemic in Greece is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 () caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (). The first case in Greece was confirmed on 26 February 2020 when a 38-year-old woman from Thessaloniki who had recently visited Νorthern Italy, was confirmed to be infected. Subsequent cases in late February and early March related to people who had travelled to Italy and a group of pilgrims who had travelled to Israel and Egypt, as well as their contacts. The first death from COVID-19 in Greece was a 66-year-old man, who died on 12 March. The 2015–16 Greek A2 Basket League was the 30th season of the Greek A2 Basket League, the second-tier level professional club basketball league in Greece. This season was the first season with the participation of 16 teams. It was also the first season where playoff and play out games were held. The winner was Kymis, which got promoted directly to GBL (A1). The second place team was Faros Keratsiniou, but the club didn't accept to play in the top-tier GBL, and it was replaced by the third placed team, Promitheas Patras. In contrast, Evropi Pefkochoriou and Filippos Veroias were relegated to Greek B League (Beta Ethniki) directly, and Peristeri and Panerythraikos were relegated after play out games.
