The is a third-generation home video game console manufactured by Casio and released in Japan in 1983. It was discontinued less than a year after release. History The PV-1000 was released in October 1983. It was only released in Japan where it sold for 14,800 yen. Casio failed to achieve a significant market share. According to retrogames.co.uk the console was pulled after several weeks due to low sales. PV-2000 The PV-2000 was released shortly after the PV1000. It is compatible with PV-1000 controllers but not its games, as it features a different architecture. In the same year Casio released two other consoles, the PV-7 and the PV-16 which were MSX computers. Technical details The PV-1000 is powered by a Zilog Z80 CPU, with 2 KB RAM, with 1 KB allocated as VRAM. It also has an additional 1 KB devoted to a character generator. ''Turtles'' is a video game developed by Konami and published in arcades in 1981 by Stern and Sega. The Sega version was published as ''Turpin'' (ターピン). ''Turtles'' is a maze game where the player is a turtle trying to bring baby turtles (called "kidturtles") to their homes while avoiding beetles. The game was ported to an unusual set of home systems. 1982 releases were for the Magnavox Odyssey², Arcadia 2001, and one of the four cartridges for Entex Adventure Vision. ''Amidar'' is a video game developed by Konami and released in arcades in 1981 by Stern. The format is similar to that of ''Pac-Man'': the player moves around a fixed rectilinear lattice, attempting to visit each location on the board while avoiding the enemies. Dig Dug
is a maze game, maze arcade game developed by Namco in 1981 and released in 1982, distributed in North America by Atari, Inc. The player controls Dig Dug to defeat all enemies per stage, by either inflating them to bursting or crushing them underneath rocks. ''Dig Dug'' was planned and designed by Masahisa Ikegami, with help from ''Galaga'' creator Shigeru Yokoyama. Tutankham
is a 1982 arcade video game developed and released by Konami and released by Stern in North America. Named after the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun, the game combines a maze shoot 'em up with light puzzle-solving elements. It debuted at the European ATE and IMA amusement shows in January 1982, before releasing worldwide in Summer 1982. The game was a critical and commercial success and was ported to home systems by Parker Brothers. Pooyan
is a fixed shooter arcade game released by Konami in Japan in 1982. It was manufactured in North America by Stern Electronics. The player controls "Mama", a pig whose babies have been kidnapped by a group of wolves. Gameplay The player controls Mama Pig, whose babies have been kidnapped by a pack of wolves and who must rescue them using a bow and arrow and slabs of meat. Controls consist of a two-position up/down joystick, which moves an elevator in which Mama Pig rides; and a button, which fires arrows and throws meat. Each level consists of two rounds. Space Panic
is a 1980 arcade game designed by Universal. Predating Nintendo's ''Donkey Kong'', and lacking a jump mechanic, ''Space Panic'' was the first game involving climbing ladders between walkable platforms. The genre was initially labeled as "climbing games," but later became known as platform games. A ColecoVision port by CBS Electronics was released in the winter holiday season of 1982. The original arcade game was commercially successful in Japan but unsuccessful in North America. Released exclusively in Japan in October 1995, it was unique in that the marketing for it was completely targeted to female gamers.
