PTV National Awards () was an awards ceremony annually held by the Pakistan Television Corporation. The awards were first introduced in the late 1970s to encourage talented people in Pakistan. History The PTV awards is the largest awards ceremony in the country and is presented by the government of Pakistan's largest media group. The Pakistan Television Corporation established the PTV Awards in 1970 from Karachi Headquarters. The awards were not famous in the start but became popular after the fifth PTV Awards ceremony. In the 2000s, the management of the corporation extended the awards to privately working talent on different private channels. PTV has been the parent platform for most contemporary Pakistani actors and singers. Jinnah Convention Centre
Jinnah Convention Centre (also known as National Convention Centre) is an exhibition and convention centre based in Islamabad, Pakistan. It is named after Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Currently managed by the Capital Development Authority, it has a seating capacity of 2,200 people, and a parking facility of more than 1,000 cars spread over three parking lots. The 17th annual PTV National Awards took place on 11 June 2012 and was aired on 30 June 2012. The awards were presented by the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) to honor the best drama programs on Pakistani television of the preceding 12 months. The ceremony was held at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and the hosts were Saba Qamar, Imran Abbas, Nadia Ali, and Mikaal Zulfiqar.
