PGA of Sweden National is a golf resort in Bara around east of central Malmö and about east of Copenhagen. PGA Sweden National consists of two 18-hole courses, one 9-hole par-3 course as well as hotel, restaurant and a pro shop. It has been named the best Swedish golf club in three consecutive years since 2012 by both members and guests in Golf's survey among 80 Swedish golf courses Operator A company, PGA of Sweden National AB (Professional Golfers' Association of Sweden National Aktiebolag), runs the resort and is a Swedish Joint-stock company with headquarters in Ängelholm, Scania in the southern part of Sweden. Bara, Scania
Bara is a locality situated in Svedala Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 3,444 inhabitants in 2010. Bara is approximately 12 km east of central Malmö. History North of Bara (area called Bara Kyrka) lies Bara church and in 1964, the construction of modern Bara started south of the church. Originally Bara was its own municipality but in 1977 it became a part of Svedala Municipality. Community facilities In Bara there are grocery stores and fast food, health and cultural services in the form of a dentist, health centre and library, as well as a bank, an ICA store and estate agents. Bara has two primary schools (Spångholmsskolan and Baraskolan) and four pre-schools. Spångholmskolan is currently undergoing renovation, and so are two of the four pre-schools. Alexander Karl Mikael Björk (born 7 June 1990) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. He won the 2018 Volvo China Open. The Swedish PGA Championship for men is a golf tournament played annually in Sweden since 1970. It has been an event on the Swedish Golf Tour schedule since 1984 and the Nordic Golf League since 1999. History From its beginning in 1970, it was a championship for members of the PGA of Sweden. Since 1986, the tournament has been open to foreign players. The tournament was part of the Challenge Tour from 1990 to 1996 and from 2001 to 2005. Since 1984, when tournament professionals had been dominating the event for several years, there is also a Swedish PGA Club Pro Championship, limited to club professionals in Sweden, with separate competitions for men, women and senior men categories. Nordic Golf League
The Nordic Golf League is one of the four PGA European Tour-recognised third-tier men's professional golf tours that are known as the Satellite Tours. The top five players on the rankings list at the end of each season earn a place on the second tier Challenge Tour for the following year. For 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, other rules were decided for qualification for the 2021 Challenge Tour. The Nordic Golf League is based in Scandinavia, and consists primarily of tournaments on the national tours of Denmark (Danish Golf Tour, currently titled as the ECCO Tour for sponsorship reasons) and Sweden (Swedish Golf Tour, currently titled as the MoreGolf Mastercard Tour for sponsorship reasons). The 2009 Nordic Golf League was the 11th season of the Nordic Golf League, a third-tier tour recognised by the European Tour. Alex Norén
Alexander Norén (born 12 July 1982) is a Swedish professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour and the European Tour. He has won ten tournaments on the European Tour, including the BMW PGA Championship, the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, the British Masters, HNA Open de France and the Nedbank Golf Challenge. The 2015 European Tour is the seventh edition of the Race to Dubai and the 44th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy defended the Race to Dubai, winning the title for the third time. He was also named Golfer of the Year. Ricardo Santos (born 7 September 1982) is a Portuguese professional golfer who plays on the Challenge Tour. He won the 2012 Madeira Islands Open. Professional career Santos turned professional in 2006. From 2007 to 2011 he played regularly on the Challenge Tour. In 2007, he was given an invite to the Madeira Islands Open on the European Tour, and led after the first round. Challenge Tour
The Challenge Tour is the second-tier men's professional golf tour in Europe. It is operated by the PGA European Tour and, as with on the main European Tour and the European Senior Tour, some of the events are played outside Europe. History The tour was introduced in 1986 and was initially called the ''Satellite Tour''. The Order of Merit was introduced in 1989, with the top five players on it winning membership of the European Tour for the following season. The following year the tour was renamed the Challenge Tour.
