Phlobaphenes (or phlobaphens, CAS No.:71663-19-9) are reddish, alcohol-soluble and water-insoluble phenolic substances. They can be extracted from plants, or be the result from treatment of tannin extracts with mineral acids (tanner's red). The name ''phlobaphen'' come from the Greek roots φλoιὀς (''phloios'') meaning bark and βαφή (''baphe'') meaning dye. No biological activities have currently been reported for phlobaphenes. Phlobaphenes from hawthorn fruits (''Fructus Crataegi'') may have a specific action on the coronary circulation. They are converted into humins in soils. Naturally formed phlobaphenes Natural phlobaphenes are the common bark, pericarp, cob glume and seed coat (''testa'') pigments. They have not been found in flowers, unless the brown and black pigments in the involucrum of certain compositae are found to be of the phlobaphene type. Abrams P-1 Explorer
The Abrams P-1 Explorer was an American purpose-designed aerial photography and survey aircraft that first flew in November 1937. Design and development The Explorer was designed by aerial survey pioneer Talbert Abrams, to meet his needs for a stable aircraft with excellent visibility for his work. Abrams was an early aerial photographer in World War I. He used a Curtiss Jenny post-war, forming ABC airlines. In 1923, Abrams founded Abrams Aerial Survey Company and in 1937, Abrams Aircraft Corporation to build the specialized P-1 aircraft. The standard single front-engined airplane of this era had many drawbacks for carrying out scientific photography. They were created to be nimble in the air rather than stable photographic platforms. Le Mans (, ) is a city in northwestern France on the Sarthe River where it meets the Huisne. Subaru 1500
The Subaru 1500 is the first car built by Fuji Heavy Industries, with the development code-name of P1. The prototype used a monocoque body structure and adopting the " ponton" style appearance, with an independent front wishbone suspension and a rear leaf spring suspension with three plates and a live rear axle. The company was already manufacturing the Fuji Rabbit scooter, and wanted to explore manufacturing an automobile to compete with established Japanese manufacturing efforts at the time. The P-1 was water-cooled and used two different 1.5 litre OHV four-cylinder inline engines. The original version, code named "FG4A", was sourced from Peugeot's 202 and built by Fuji Precision Technology (this later became the Prince Motor Company).
