Pericarp Color1
Phlobaphenes (or phlobaphens, CAS No.:71663-19-9) are reddish, alcohol-soluble and water-insoluble phenolic substances. They can be extracted from plants, or be the result from treatment of tannin extracts with mineral acids (tanner's red). The name ''phlobaphen'' come from the Greek roots φλoιὀς (''phloios'') meaning bark and βαφή (''baphe'') meaning dye. No biological activities have currently been reported for phlobaphenes. Phlobaphenes from hawthorn fruits (''Fructus Crataegi'') may have a specific action on the coronary circulation. They are converted into humins in soils. Naturally formed phlobaphenes Natural phlobaphenes are the common bark, pericarp, cob glume and seed coat (''testa'') pigments. They have not been found in flowers, unless the brown and black pigments in the involucrum of certain compositae are found to be of the phlobaphene type. In bark, phlobaphenes accumulate in the phellem layer of cork cambium, part of the suberin mixture. Occurrence ... Abrams P-1 Explorer
The Abrams P-1 Explorer was an American purpose-designed aerial photography and survey aircraft that first flew in November 1937. Design and development The Explorer was designed by aerial survey pioneer Talbert Abrams, to meet his needs for a stable aircraft with excellent visibility for his work. Abrams was an early aerial photographer in World War I. He used a Curtiss Jenny post-war, forming ABC airlines. In 1923, Abrams founded Abrams Aerial Survey Company and in 1937, Abrams Aircraft Corporation to build the specialized P-1 aircraft. The standard single front-engined airplane of this era had many drawbacks for carrying out scientific photography. They were created to be nimble in the air rather than stable photographic platforms. Their engines leaked oil which would then flow under the aircraft and affect the camera lens. Finally, the loud engines made cockpit conversation difficult. Abrams designed an aircraft with a rear engine to keep the camera apertures clean and red ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Le Mans
Le Mans (, ) is a city in northwestern France on the Sarthe River where it meets the Huisne. Traditionally the capital of the province of Maine, it is now the capital of the Sarthe department and the seat of the Roman Catholic diocese of Le Mans. Le Mans is a part of the Pays de la Loire region. Its inhabitants are called ''Manceaux'' (male) and ''Mancelles'' (female). Since 1923, the city has hosted the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world's oldest active endurance sports car race. History First mentioned by Claudius Ptolemy, the Roman city ''Vindinium'' was the capital of the Aulerci, a sub tribe of the Aedui. Le Mans is also known as ''Civitas Cenomanorum'' (City of the Cenomani), or ''Cenomanus''. Their city, seized by the Romans in 47 BC, was within the ancient Roman province of Gallia Lugdunensis. A 3rd-century amphitheatre is still visible. The ''thermae'' were demolished during the crisis of the third century when workers were mobilized to build the city's defensive walls ... Subaru 1500
The Subaru 1500 is the first car built by Fuji Heavy Industries, with the development code-name of P1. The prototype used a monocoque body structure and adopting the " ponton" style appearance, with an independent front wishbone suspension and a rear leaf spring suspension with three plates and a live rear axle. The company was already manufacturing the Fuji Rabbit scooter, and wanted to explore manufacturing an automobile to compete with established Japanese manufacturing efforts at the time. The P-1 was water-cooled and used two different 1.5 litre OHV four-cylinder inline engines. The original version, code named "FG4A", was sourced from Peugeot's 202 and built by Fuji Precision Technology (this later became the Prince Motor Company). The FG4A engine was related to the Prince GA4 with some modification, and was shared with the Prince Sedan introduced in 1952. Prince had not agreed to Fuji Precision Technology providing this engine to a competing car and Fuji Heavy Industrie ... Porsche P1
The Egger-Lohner C.2 Phaeton, erronously called Porsche P1, is an electric vehicle built by Egger-Lohner. It is the first vehicle that Ferdinand Porsche somewhat contributed to. The vehicle resembles a horse-drawn carriage with an electrical motor attached to it. Approximately 4 were built. Powertrain The C.2 Phaeton model is in fact a four-seat vehicle. It is powered by the "octagon" electric motor, that Ferdinand Porsche designed, which took its name from the eight-sided design of the motor housing. The electric motor can produce an output of at 350 rpm and, for short periods of time, up to with a top speed of by overcharging it. The car could be driven for three to five hours with a range of approximately . The car uses a complicated series of gears: it is driven by using a 12-speed controller where six are dedicated to forward gears, two for reverse and four to brake the car. Body The vehicle could also be styled as an open-air chassis or a coupe. Because of its alternati ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

McLaren P1
The McLaren P1 is a limited-production mid-engine plug-in hybrid sports car produced by British automobile manufacturer McLaren Automotive. Debuted at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, sales of the P1 began in the United Kingdom in October 2013 and all 375 units were sold out by November. Production ended in early December 2015. The United States accounted for 34% of the units and Europe for 26%. It is considered by the automotive press to be the successor to the McLaren F1, utilising hybrid power and Formula One technology, but does not have the same three-seat layout. It was later confirmed that the Speedtail served as the actual successor to the McLaren F1. The P1 has a mid-engine, rear wheel drive design that used a carbon fibre monocoque and roof structure safety cage concept called MonoCage, which is a development of the MonoCell first used in the MP4-12C and then in subsequent models. Its main competitors are the LaFerrari and the 918 Spyder. They are all similar in specifica ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Allard P1
The Allard P1 (known when new more often than not simply as the Allard 3.6-litre Saloon) is a five-seater two-door sports saloon produced by the British Allard Motor Company between 1949 and 1952. 155 Allard P1s were built. The cars used Ford engines and transmissions. This helped reduce problems finding service support and parts for cars exported to the US which was a key export market for Allard and other UK makers of larger cars in the 1950s. A car tested by the British magazine '' The Autocar'' in 1949 recorded a top speed of and could accelerate from 0– in 23.4 seconds. A fuel consumption of was recorded. The test car cost £1277 including taxes. The Competition Series version received Mercury's 4.4 litre V8 engine with ; if this did not suffice then various aftermarket parts from companies such as Edelbrock or Edmunds could be specified. Unusually in a car of post-war design, the Allard featured a windscreen hinged at the top, which could be opened "by means of a ... P-ONE
The Pacific Ocean Neutrino Experiment, or P-ONE, is a proposed neutrino observatory using an area of the north-eastern Pacific Ocean off the coast of British Columbia, Canada, to entrap neutrinos for study and experimentation. The proposal involves building a multi-cubic-kilometer neutrino telescope at Ocean Networks Canada’s Cascadia Basin site in the North East Pacific Time-series Underwater Networked Experiment (NEPTUNE) coastal network. Although a considerable number of neutrinos are produced in the universe, they are emitted at a considerably low flux, and therefore require a large detection array for their capture. Pollard's P − 1 Algorithm
Pollard's ''p'' − 1 algorithm is a number theoretic integer factorization algorithm, invented by John Pollard in 1974. It is a special-purpose algorithm, meaning that it is only suitable for integers with specific types of factors; it is the simplest example of an algebraic-group factorisation algorithm. The factors it finds are ones for which the number preceding the factor, ''p'' − 1, is powersmooth; the essential observation is that, by working in the multiplicative group modulo a composite number ''N'', we are also working in the multiplicative groups modulo all of ''Ns factors. The existence of this algorithm leads to the concept of safe primes, being primes for which ''p'' − 1 is two times a Sophie Germain prime ''q'' and thus minimally smooth. These primes are sometimes construed as "safe for cryptographic purposes", but they might be ''unsafe'' — in current recommendations for cryptographic strong primes (''e.g.'' ...
