OG (esports)
OG is a professional esports organisation based in Europe. Formed in 2015, they are best known for their ''Dota 2'' team who won The International 2018 and 2019 tournaments. They also have a '' Counter-Strike: Global Offensive'' team. Kiev Major
The Kiev Major was a professional ''Dota 2'' esport tournament that was held in April 2017 at the National Palace of Arts in Kyiv, Ukraine. The tournament featured eight directly invited teams, as well as eight qualified teams from six different worldwide regions. The open qualifiers tournament was held on March 6–9, 2017, followed by the regional qualifiers held on March 10–13, 2017. For the first time in an officially sponsored tournament, Valve, the game's developer and tournament administrator, split the previously single Americas region into North and South America, as well as creating the CIS region out of Europe. The International 2017
The International 2017 (TI7) was the seventh iteration of The International, an annual ''Dota 2'' esports world championship tournament. Hosted by Valve, the game's developer, the tournament began with the online qualifier phase in June 2017, and ended after the main event at the KeyArena in Seattle in August. The Grand Finals took place between the European-based Team Liquid and Chinese-based Newbee, with Liquid defeating Newbee 3–0 in a best-of-five series, winning nearly $11 million in prize money. As with every International from 2013 onwards, the prize pool was crowdfunded by the ''Dota 2'' community via its battle pass feature, with the total being one of the largest in esports history at nearly 25 million. Sébastien Debs, better known as Ceb, is a French former professional ''Dota 2'' player. He was a member of OG, the team that won the multi-million dollar International 2018 and 2019 tournaments, as well as the team's coach when they won four Dota Major Championships. Career Sébastien Debs' professional ''Dota 2'' career started with Team Shakira in 2011. The team first gained notability after placing 4th in Dreamhack Winter 2011. Topias Miikka Taavitsainen (born 14 April 1998), better known as Topson, is a Finnish professional ''Dota 2'' player. As a member of OG, he won The International 2018 and The International 2019. Early life Topias Miikka Taavitsainen was born in Haukipudas, Finland on 14 April 1998. He has seven brothers and four sisters. At the encouragement of his brothers, he began playing ''Defense of the Ancients'' when he was eight years old. His father owns a construction company and grew up as Laestadian family. His parents were doubtful if playing video games as a career would be profitable, but his eventual success of winning tournaments surprised his mother. The Boston Major was a professional ''Dota 2'' esports tournament that took place in Boston in the United States. The main event was played live at the Wang Theatre from December 7–10, 2016. Like other tournaments in the ''Dota 2'' Major Championship series, the event featured 16 teams from around the world and had a $3,000,000 prize pool, with the victor winning $1,000,000. The event was presented and produced by PGL, who also had the same role at the previous Major in Manila. Anathan Pham (born 26 October 1999), better known as ana, is an Australian professional '' Dota 2'' player. As a member of OG, he has played in three iterations of The International, winning in 2018 and 2019, and has also won two Major championships tournaments. Career Early career Pham was born in Melbourne, Australia on 26 October 1999. An avid Dota 2 player, he often played 10+ hours a day to the point where it started to impact his education. In 2016, Pham was offered a position in Invictus Gaming's in-house league. This necessitated moving to Shanghai. To pursue the opportunity, Pham dropped out of high school at age 16 and moved to Shanghai.
