"Out Of Mind Out Of Sight" is the title single by Australian new wave rock band Models from their album of the same name. It was released in June 1985 and was their most successful single, which peaked at No. 1 on the Australian Kent Music Report Singles Chart. Note: Used for Australian singles and albums charting from 1970 until ARIA created their own charts in mid-1988. The album followed in August on Mushroom Records with Nick Launay, Reggie Lucas and Mark Opitz producing and reached No. 3 on the related albums chart. At the 1985 Countdown Music Awards, the song won Best Single. The album provided five singles, with the first, "Big on Love" issued in November 1984, which reached No. 24. Models (band)
Models (also sometimes known as The Models) are an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne, Victoria in August 1978. They went into hiatus in 1988, but re-formed in 2000, 2006 and 2008 to perform reunion concerts. The band began regularly performing again from 2010 onwards. " Out of Mind, Out of Sight", their only No. 1 hit, appeared on the Australian singles charts in July 1985. The ''Billboard'' 200 is a record chart ranking the 200 most popular music albums and EPs in the United States. It is published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine and is frequently used to convey the popularity of an artist or groups of artists. Roger Mason (musician)
Roger Ashley Mason is an Australian keyboardist who has been a member of new wave groups Models, Absent Friends and Icehouse. He was a session and backing musician for United Kingdom's Gary Numan and for various Australian artists. From the early 1990s he has composed music for television and feature films. He appeared on Models best performed album, '' Out of Mind, Out of Sight'' (1985), which reached No. 3 on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart and provided a No. 2 hit "Barbados" and a No. 1 hit " Out of Mind, Out of Sight". Zan Abeyratne
Suzanne Marguerite Abeyratne (born 1961), who performs as Zan or Xan, is an Australian-based singer born in London. Abeyratne was a co-lead vocalist of I'm Talking (1984–87), alongside Kate Ceberano. She provided lead vocals on their single, "Holy Word" (July 1986), which peaked at No. 9 in Australia, and No. 21 in New Zealand. Along with her identical twin sister Sherine (a member of Big Pig (1985–91)), Abeyratne has provided backing vocals for Models, INXS, and U2, and has toured the world with other bands. After the demise of I'm Talking, Abeyratne had a solo recording career. Her 1989 single, "It's Your Move", appeared in the top 100 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Catherine Yvette Ceberano ( or , born 17 November 1966) is an Australian singer and actress who performs in the soul, jazz, and pop genres, as well as in film and musicals such as '' Jesus Christ Superstar''. Sean Patrick Kelly (born 9 November 1958) is an Australian singer, guitarist and songwriter best known as a founding member of the bands Models, Absent Friends and The Dukes. Biography In his youth, Kelly was exposed to a variety of musical genres that eventually influenced his own style. Before developing a taste for pop music and the Top 40s, he would listen to his parents classical music and show tunes. Growing up in an Irish Catholic family, he was exposed to music from an early age. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are an English electronic music, electronic band formed in Wirral Peninsula, Wirral, Merseyside, in 1978. The group consists of co-founders Andy McCluskey (vocals, bass guitar) and Paul Humphreys (keyboards, vocals), along with Martin Cooper (musician), Martin Cooper (keyboards, saxophone) and Stuart Kershaw (drums); McCluskey has been the only constant member.
