Otto Joachim (politician)
Otto Joachim Moltke (11 June 1770 – 1 February 1853) was a lawyer and government official. He was the Minister of State of Denmark from 1824 to 1842. Biography He was born at Moltkes Palæ in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was the son of Adam Gottlob Moltke (1710–1792) and Sophie Hedevig von Raben (1733–1802). His father was lensgreve til Bregentved and had exercised extensive political power during the reign of Frederick V. Moltke studied at the University of Copenhagen from 1786 and in 1788 became a legal candidate. He then made a study trip abroad. He moved to Norway where he was appointed the County Governor of Bratsberg amt from 1798 until 1800. In 1800, Moltke received the rank of chamberlain and appointed to be the Diocesan Governor of Christianssands Stiftamt (and simultaneously the County Governor of Nedenes Amt. Telemark
Telemark is a traditional region, a former county, and a current electoral district in southern Norway. In 2020, Telemark merged with the former county of Vestfold to form the county of Vestfold og Telemark. Telemark borders the traditional regions and former counties of Vestfold, Buskerud, Hordaland, Rogaland and Aust-Agder. The name ''Telemark'' means the "mark of the Thelir", the ancient North Germanic tribe that inhabited what is now known as Upper Telemark in the Migration Period and the Viking Age. Nicolai Emanuel De Thygeson
Nicolai Emanuel de Thygeson or Niels Emanuel de Thygeson (19 April 1772–16 May 1860) was a Danish-Norwegian landowner and government official. The Thygeson family was originally a Danish noble family. Nevertheless, Thygeson was one of those who worked purposefully for Norway's secession from Denmark and the establishment of a Norwegian constitution. Career Thygeson was the County Governor of Hedemarkens amt from 1802 to 1804. In 1804, he was promoted and named the Diocesan Governor of Christianssand stiftamt. He held that job until 1810. He then returned to Denmark to run his estate there. In 1812, he was appointed to be the Diocesan Governor of Christiania stiftamt. Thygeson made a name for himself when, in the dramatic days of September 1807, he (as the Governor) ordered a British warship to be protected with cannons at Christiansholm Fortress. Hans Christoph Diderik Victor von Levetzow (1754-1829) was a Danish noble and government official. He served as the Diocesan Governor in Iceland from 1785 until 1789. He was then transferred to Norway where he served as the Diocesand Governor of Christianssand stiftamt (and simultaneously as the County Governor of Nedenæs amt from 1789 until 1800. Slagelse Municipality is a municipality ( Danish: '' kommune'') in Region Zealand on the west coast of the island of Zealand (Danish: ''Sjælland'') in Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 571 km². The municipality borders Kalundborg Municipality to the north, Sorø Municipality to the north-east, Næstved Municipality to the south-east and connects to Nyborg Municipality via the Great Belt Bridge. The Order of the Elephant ( da, Elefantordenen) is a Danish order of chivalry and is Denmark's highest-ranked honour. It has origins in the 15th century, but has officially existed since 1693, and since the establishment of constitutional monarchy in 1849, is now almost exclusively used to honour royalty and heads of state. Order Of The Dannebrog
The Order of the Dannebrog ( da, Dannebrogordenen) is a Danish order of chivalry instituted in 1671 by Christian V. Until 1808, membership in the order was limited to fifty members of noble or royal rank, who formed a single class known as ''White Knights'' to distinguish them from the ''Blue Knights'' who were members of the Order of the Elephant. In 1808, the Order was reformed and divided into four classes. The ''Grand Commander'' class is reserved to persons of princely origin. It is awarded only to royalty with close family ties with the Danish Royal House. The statute of the Order was amended in 1951 by a Royal Ordinance so that both men and women could be members of the Order.
