Osoyoos Storm
The Kamloops Storm are a junior ice hockey team based in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. They are members of the Doug Birks Division of the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL). They play their home games at MacArthur Island Olympic Arena . The Storm played in Osoyoos, British Columbia until 2006, when they were moved to Kamloops. The 2006–07 season was the first one played in Kamloops. History The Storm won the 2004–05 KIJHL Championship, but were eliminated by the Sicamous Eagles in the 2005–06 playoffs. The Storm also won the Keystone Cup in 2004–05. In the 2006–07 season the Kamloops Storm went on to capture the regular season Division banner and also the playoff division banner before losing to the Fernie Ghostriders in the League Semi Finals. Kamloops
Kamloops ( ) is a city in south-central British Columbia, Canada, at the confluence of the South flowing North Thompson River and the West flowing Thompson River, east of Kamloops Lake. 2010–11 KIJHL Season
The 2010–11 KIJHL season was the 44th season of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. Eighteen teams played 52 games each during the regular season schedule, which started on September 10, 2010 and ended on February 12, 2011. The playoffs began shortly after the regular season ended, and ended at the end April, with the Osoyoos Coyotes awarded the KIJHL Championship, and a berth in the 2011 Cyclone Taylor Cup, hosted by the Fernie Ghostriders in Fernie, British Columbia, at the Fernie Memorial Arena. Chuck Kobasew
Nicholas James Kobasew (born April 17, 1982) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger who played eleven seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Amateur Kobasew is from the town of Osoyoos, British Columbia, 398 kilometres east of Vancouver. He spent one season playing at Boston College, starring on a team which won the National Championship and was loaded with players headed to the NHL. At the 2001 NCAA Frozen Four, the Eagles defeated the North Dakota Fighting Sioux 3-2 in overtime. Kobasew was named MVP for the tournament. Professional Kobasew was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the first round (14th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. During the 2004–05 NHL lockout, Kobasew played with the American Hockey League (AHL)'s Lowell Lock Monsters, and helped the team reach a number of franchise records. The Osoyoos Coyotes are a Junior "B" Ice Hockey team based in Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada. The Summerland Sting was a Canadian 'B' Junior ice hockey team from Summerland, British Columbia. The 100 Mile House Wranglers are a junior 'B' ice hockey team based in 100 Mile House, British Columbia, Canada. They are members of the Doug Birks Division of the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL). The ''Wranglers'' play their home games at the South Cariboo Rec Centre. Tom Bachynski is the team's governor and Dale Hladun is the general manager and coach.
