Oskar Textorius
Bror "Oskar" Textorius (8 April 1864 in Kristianstad - 20 April 1938 in Stockholm) was a Swedish actor, singer and theater director. Textorius made his stage debut in 1887 and participated in different theater groups before getting a job at Folkteatern in Stockholm in 1893. He started his own operett group which toured between 1899 and 1906, after that he worked in theater in Stockholm and between 1911 and 1918 he became the most noted operett-actor at Oscarsteatern. He worked at Scalateatern in Copenhagen, Denmark between 1918 and 1920 and worked as a stage leader at Stora Teatern in Gothenburg between 1920 and 1925, and later from 1937 and until his death. Textorius made his film debut in 1911, in Anna Hofman-Uddgren's short film ''Stockholmsfrestelser'' along with his wife Ester Textorius, he would feature in six films. Anna Hofman-Uddgren
Anna Maria Viktoria Hofman-Uddgren (23 February 18681 June 1947) ''née'' Hammarström; also known as ''Hoffman'' and ''Hofmann'', was a Swedish actress, cabaret singer, music hall and revue artist, theatre director, and film director. Until 2016, she was referred to as the first woman to become a film director in Sweden. Life Anna Hofman-Uddgren was born in Hedvig Eleonora parish on Östermalm in Stockholm, Sweden. She was the daughter of Emma Hammarström (1849–1910). Her mother Emma Hammarström was from the peasantry and had moved to the capital as young. She was officially listed in the register as a widow, but in reality she had never been married, and the man she registered as her former husband never excisted. Ester Textorius
Ester Vilhelmina Textorius (22 August 1883 – 13 February 1972) was a Swedish actress and opera singer, known for her comedic theater roles. Early life and marriage Ester Vilhelmina Pettersson was born in Västerås, Sweden, on 22 August 1883. In 1904 she married the actor Oskar Textorius (1864-1938). Career Textorius started her acting career by answering an advertisement by theater leader Emil Hillberg, and made her stage debut in 1901 at Halmstad theater in Halmstad as Paula in the play ''Fri vilja''. After studies with Hillberg and actress Josefina Gullberg, she worked for a few years at different theaters in the countryside. It was during these years that she had the opportunity to work with the famous Dramaten actor J. Gustaf Fredrikson (1832-1921).
