''Origin'' (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Boichi. It was serialized in Kodansha's ''seinen'' manga magazine ''Weekly Young Magazine'' from September 2016 to February 2019, with its chapters collected in ten ''tankōbon'' volumes. In 2019, ''Origin'' won the Grand Prize at the 22nd Japan Media Arts Festival. Publication ''Origin'', written and illustrated by Boichi, was serialized in Kodansha's ''seinen'' manga magazine ''Weekly Young Magazine'' from September 5, 2016, to February 9, 2019. Kodansha collected its chapters in ten ''tankōbon'' volumes, released from January 6, 2017, to June 6, 2019. Boichi
Boichi is a pen-name used by Mu-jik Park, a South Korean manhwa-turned- manga artist living in Japan. Biography Intending to be a manga artist from his childhood days, Boichi majored in physics in college as preparation to draw science fiction works, and also to learn the technology of performance and imaging. He went on to graduate school to major in image technology. In 1993, while still enrolled, Boichi debuted in a Korean girls manhwa magazine. Since then, he gained popularity releasing a number of works and publishing books on how to draw manga targeting a wide range of readers. is an editorial category of Japanese comics marketed toward young adult men. The Japan Media Arts Festival is an annual festival held since 1997 by Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs. The festival begins with an open competition and culminates with the awarding of several prizes and an exhibition. Based on judging by a jury of artistic peers, awards are given in four categories: Art (formerly called Non-Interactive Digital Art), Entertainment (formerly called Interactive Art; including video games and websites), animation, and manga.
