Orestes Bachmaensis
''Orestes bachmaensis'' is a Phasmatodea species native to central Vietnam. Characteristics Males are around long and, typical of the genus, medium to dark brown in color. They have an indistinct hump on the back of themiddle and hind Arthropod leg#Femur, femura. The tergites of the Abdomen (insect anatomy), abdomen are approximately the same length. The fourth and fifth tergites are slightly raised towards the rear. The species-specific spines located in front of and behind the eyes on the head are pronounced as follows (see also Heteropterygidae#Acanthotaxy, Acanthotaxy of Heteropterygidae). Bạch Mã National Park
Bạch Mã National Park ( vi, Vườn quốc gia Bạch Mã) is a protected area in central Vietnam, near the city of Huế. It covers 220 km2 and comprises three zones: a strictly protected core area, an administrative area and a buffer zone. In 2004, the park was being considered for expansion in order to create a corridor from the border with Laos to the sea. The park can be accessed by foot, moped or with a park guide's car. History In 1932, the summit of Bạch Mã was selected by the French engineer Girard to become a hill station for the colonial administration of Hue. ''Pylaemenes'' is a genus of stick insects in the family Heteropterygidae and subfamily Dataminae. It combines small to medium-sized, often brightly colored Phasmatodea species. Their representatives are found in large parts of Southeast Asia. Characteristics The average size of representatives of this genus in the male sex is between and between in the females. ''Orestes guangxiensis'' is a representative of the genus '' Orestes (insect), Orestes''. Characteristics So far only females are known of ''Orestes guangxiensis''. In 2005 Paul D. Brock and Masaya Okada mistakenly described males of this species from Japan, Japanese island Miyako-jima. George Ho Wai-Chun assigned this to ''Pylaemenes japonicus'' described by him in 2016 (today's name ''Orestes japonicus''). The females are long and stocky in shape. ''Orestes subcylindricus'' is a species of stick insects native to Vietnam. Characteristics With a size of in males and in the females, the species is one of the largest of the genus. Only the representatives of "Orestes bachmaensis" almost reach this size.
