The Order of Merit of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (german: Verdienstorden des Landes Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) is a civil order of merit, and the highest award of the German State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The award is presented to men and women for exceptional performance over a long period of time, or an extraordinary individual performance for the benefit of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Founded in 2001 and first presented in 2002, the order may be presented to up to 20 persons per year. This is a list of the men who have served in the capacity of Minister-President or equivalent office in the states within the region of Mecklenburg from the 18th century to 1952. FC Anker Wismar is a German association football club based in Wismar, Germany, currently playing in the Verbandsliga Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. History The club's origins date back to 1904 when ''FC Elite Wismar'' were established. The following year, the club was renamed to ''Wismarer FC 1905''. Horst Klinkmann
Horst Klinkmann (born 7 May 1935) is a German professor for Internal medicine and Nephrology (kidney related medicine). A principal focus of his research is in the area of major medical implants. Between 1990 and 1992 he served, in succession to Werner Scheler, as the final president of the (East) German Academy of Sciences. In 1992 he was relieved of his professorship at Rostock University "on account of personality defects" (''"wegen mangelnder persönl. Eignung"''). Berthold Beitz
Berthold Beitz (; 26 September 1913 – 30 July 2013) was a German industrialist. He was the head of the Krupp steel conglomerate beginning in the 1950s. He was credited with helping to lead the re-industrialization of the Ruhr Valley and rebuilding Germany into an industrial power. He gained acclaim for saving some 250 Jewish workers during World War II by declaring them to be essential workers at an oil facility. In 1973, for saving Jews, he received the Righteous Among the Nations title awarded by the Israeli Yad Vashem, the highest honor given to a non-Jew. Solveig Leo
Solveig Leo (born November 1943) is a German farmer and politician who served as Mayor of Banzkow from 1992 to 2009. Biography Leo was born in 1943 in Nazi-occupied Sudetenland. In the aftermath of the war, she and her family were relocated to Thuringia, which was located in the newly formed German Democratic Republic. She completed her apprenticeship as a farmer at the VEG Ludwigshof, which was followed by studies at the Technical School of Agriculture in Weimar. At an agricultural exhibition in Leipzig, her talents were recognized by the Chairman of the LPG Banzkow, who recruited her, and she relocated to Bezirk Schwerin. She joined the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) in 1965 and in January 1968, at just 24 years old and already married with children, she was elected Chairwoman of the LPG 'Clara Zetkin'.
