Orara Valley Axemen
Group 2 is a rugby league competition on the north coast of New South Wales Since 1966, run under the auspices of the Country Rugby League. The Group 2 area runs from Grafton in the north to Macksville in the south. Group 2 teams played for many decades before 1966 when some redistribution, amalgamation or control mechanism presumably changed. Teams on the Nambucca River, namely Bowraville, Macksville and Nambucca Heads played in a southern division against Kempsey, Smithtown, Port Macquarie and Wauchope before 1966. Rugby league football, commonly known as just rugby league and sometimes football, footy, rugby or league, is a full-contact sport played by two teams of thirteen players on a rectangular field measuring 68 metres (75 yards) wide and 112–122 metres (122 to 133 yards) long with H shaped posts at both ends. Coramba, New South Wales
Coramba is a small historic town north-west of Coffs Harbour in northern New South Wales, Australia. The North Coast railway passes through, and a now-closed railway station was provided from 1922. In the 1890s, gold was mined in the area. The village currently has a pub with accommodation, a post office, a petrol service station, a cafe/take away general store, a vet, two volunteer RFS fire brigades, an art gallery, a hairdresser, a fabric store/ haberdashery, a pre school, a historic community hall, and churches. Aiden Tolman
Aiden Tolman (born 10 November 1988) is a former Australian professional rugby league footballer who last played as a for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the NRL. He previously played for the Melbourne Storm and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the National Rugby League has played at representative level for NSW Country. Early life Tolman was born in Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia. He was educated at St Paul's College, Kempsey and represented 2006 Australian Schoolboys. Clayton Cup
The Clayton Cup is a trophy that was awarded by the Country Rugby League to the NSW country rugby league team with the best overall record for that season. To be eligible, the team must win the highest level of competition in its region. Usually the winner of the Clayton Cup goes through the season undefeated. In late 2019, the Country Rugby League was absorbed by the New South Wales Rugby League. The Cup was donated by Reub Clayton, an early rugby league administrator in country NSW. The cup was first awarded in 1937 to West Tamworth. Since then, the Tweed Heads Seagulls, Grafton Ghosts, North Tamworth Bears and Cobar Roosters have been the most successful clubs, each winning the trophy three times. Hastings League
The Hastings League is a community rugby league competition. It features amateur teams from smaller towns around the Mid-North Coast and runs as a community competition similar to the Barwon Darling Rugby League and the Western Riverina Community Cup. History The Hastings League was established in 1920 as a rugby league competition on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales. The competition partnered with the Group 3 Rugby League in the 1990s as the Group 3 Saturday League, but has since returned to the Hastings League name and remains separate from Group 3. In 2018, the competition began a ladies tackle grade. This competition has now expanded to allow invitees from other Groups, become independent of the competition, and is known as the North Coast Women's Rugby League. Group 3 Rugby League
Group 3 is a rugby league competition on the north coast of New South Wales, run under the auspices of the Country Rugby League. The Group 3 area runs from Kempsey in the north to Forster in the south. History The league began in 1946, with Taree Old Bar winning the first ever premiership. At the time, this league was known as Group 18. In 1966, the boundaries were re-drawn to include three new clubs (Camden Haven, Port Macquarie, and Wauchope) and the group's name was changed to Group 3. In 1995, Port Macquarie and Wauchope joined Group 2 in another re-zoning, with teams from Group 3 Saturday League joining the competition. In 2003, Port City RLFC joined the competition on loan from Group 2. In 2004, Wauchope re-joined the league after departing at the end of the 1994 season.
