Coramba, New South Wales
Coramba is a small historic town north-west of Coffs Harbour in northern New South Wales, Australia. The North Coast railway passes through, and a now-closed railway station was provided from 1922. In the 1890s, gold was mined in the area. The village currently has a pub with accommodation, a post office, a petrol service station, a cafe/take away general store, a vet, two volunteer RFS fire brigades, an art gallery, a hairdresser, a fabric store/ haberdashery, a pre school, a historic community hall, and churches. Monthly street markets are held (weather permitting) or within the Community Hall in inclement weather. Coramba sportsground is home of the Orara Valley rugby league club which plays in the Group 2 competition. Coffs Harbour is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. Since 2019 it has been represented by Gurmesh Singh of the National Party. The district takes in the entirety of the City of Coffs Harbour and includes the localities of Coffs Harbour, Sawtell, Coramba, Korora Bay, Moonee Beach, Emerald Beach, Woolgoolga, Arrawarra, Corindi Beach and Red Rock. Coramba Nature Reserve
Coramba Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve located near Coffs Harbour in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It is one of the few remnants of low altitude sub tropical rainforest in the Clarence River valley. Founded in 1982 with the primary goal of protecting the remaining lowland rainforests. Common tree species include white booyong, Oliver's sassafras, jackwood, white walnut, red cedar, black apple, white cedar, yellow carabeen, water gum, and maiden's blush. Coffs Harbour is a city on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia, north of Sydney, and south of Brisbane. It is one of the largest urban centres on the North Coast, with a population of 78,759 as per 2021 census. The Gumbaynggirr are the original people of the Coffs Harbour region. Coffs Harbour's economy was once based on timber and agriculture. Over recent decades, tourism has become an increasingly important industry for the city. Once part of a region known as the Bananacoast, today the tourist city is part of a wider region known as the Coffs Coast. North Coast Railway Line, New South Wales
The North Coast Line is the primary rail route in the Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers regions of New South Wales, Australia, and forms a major part of the Sydney–Brisbane rail corridor. The line begins at Maitland and ends at Roma Street railway station in Brisbane, although freight services terminate at the yard at Acacia Ridge on the outskirts of Brisbane. Along the way, the railway passes through the towns of Dungog, Gloucester, Wingham, Taree, Kendall, Wauchope, Kempsey, Macksville, Nambucca Heads, Urunga, Sawtell, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Casino and Kyogle. After the standard gauge line ends at Acacia Ridge, it forms a dual gauge line into Brisbane, running alongside parts of the Beenleigh railway line. Group 2 Rugby League
Group 2 is a rugby league competition on the north coast of New South Wales Since 1966, run under the auspices of the Country Rugby League. The Group 2 area runs from Grafton in the north to Macksville in the south. Group 2 teams played for many decades before 1966 when some redistribution, amalgamation or control mechanism presumably changed. Teams on the Nambucca River, namely Bowraville, Macksville and Nambucca Heads played in a southern division against Kempsey, Smithtown, Port Macquarie and Wauchope before 1966.
