Omar Elgeziry (born 20 January 1985) is an Egyptian modern pentathlete. He also had brothers who are pentathletes, namely Emad and Amro. Amro El Geziry
Amro Abdulrahman Ali El-Geziry (born 19 November 1986) is an American modern pentathlete. He competed for Egypt at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympics and placed 32nd, 33rd and 25th, respectively. His brothers, Emad and Omar, are also Olympic pentathletes. In June 2021, he qualified to represent the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Yasser Hefny
Yasser Mohammed Hefny (born 8 February 1989) is an Egyptian modern pentathlete. Hefny has won many international competitions including the youth world championship of pentathlon in 2005 and 2007, and later the world champion of speedball in Paris. Early life His love of sports began when he started swimming in the school of el Zohoor club, and at the age of 6 he joined the speedball school in the same club. After two years, Yasser decided to go competitive and joined the boys swimming and speedball teams. At the age of 11, Hefny have decided to find a new competition to challenge himself so he joined the modern pentathlon team in 6 October club. At the age of 12, he was chosen to join the Egyptian national team of modern pentathlon and began his international achievements by winning his first international title in the biathlon world championship in 2004 in Germany. Modern Pentathlon
The modern pentathlon is an Olympic sport consisting of fencing (one-touch épée), freestyle swimming, equestrian show jumping, pistol shooting, and cross country running. The event is inspired by the traditional pentathlon held during the ancient Olympics. The modern pentathlon was first held in 1912, and its rules have changed several times over the years. The latest structure, as of the 2020 Olympics, consists of three separate events for fencing, swimming, and equestrian, which determine each athlete's starting time in the final event. The last event, called the laser-run, alternates four legs of laser pistol shooting followed by an 800 m run (for 3200 m in total). The men's modern pentathlon at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro was held on 19 August. Three venues were used: Deodoro Aquatics Centre (swimming), Deodoro Stadium (horse-riding and combined running and shooting) and Youth Arena (fencing). The medals were presented by Timothy Fok, IOC member, Hong Kong and Klaus Schormann, President of the UIPM. The Air Force Falcons are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the United States Air Force Academy, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The athletics department has 17 men's and 10 women's NCAA-sanctioned teams. The current athletic director is Nathan Pine.
