2016 World Modern Pentathlon Championships
The 2016 UIPM Senior World Championships were held in Moscow, Russia from 23 to 29 May 2016. The event includes pistol shooting, fencing, 200m swimming, show jumping and a 3km run. Joanna Muir
Joanna Muir (born 30 August 1994) is a British modern pentathlete, who was part of the British squad that won the team event at the 2019 European Modern Pentathlon Championships, and came second in the women's relay event at the 2016 World Modern Pentathlon Championships. She came second at the opening event of the 2021 Modern Pentathlon World Cup. Muir competed in the modern pentathlon event at the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics. Career Muir was formerly a runner. She took up modern pentathlon at the age of 15, having also been involved in tetrathlon. After finishing her studying, she chose to become a full-time athlete. She trains at the University of Bath. In 2013, Muir made her debut in the Modern Pentathlon World Cup at an event in Palm Springs, California, US. Annika Schleu
Annika Schleu (born 3 April 1990) is a German modern pentathlete. She won the gold medal of the relay event at the 2012 World Championships and 2017 World Championships. She has competed in three Olympic Games, finishing in 26th place in 2012 and in 4th place in 2016. Personal life She was born in Berlin, Germany. She is married to fellow modern pentathlete Christian Zillekens. Individual events She won the silver medal at the 2018 World Championships. At junior level, she also won silver at the 2008 European Junior Championships. Élodie Clouvel (; born 14 January 1989) is a French modern pentathlete. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed finishing in 31st place which also marked her maiden appearance at the Summer Olympics. She won the silver medal in the event at the 2016 Olympic Games.
