Omar Aggad
Omar A. Aggad ( ar, عمر العقاد; 20 April 1927 – 1 February 2018) was a Saudi Palestinian businessman, the founder of Aggad Investment Company (AICO), and the founder and former chairman of Arab Palestinian Investment Company (APIC). Early life Aggad was born in Jaffa, Mandatory Palestine, in 1927, and attended Alrashidieh College in Jerusalem. He subsequently received a scholarship to attend the University of Manchester in the UK where he graduated with degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering. Career After working for a few years in the UK, he moved to Saudi Arabia in 1950 where he joined the Juffali Group as a senior manager. In 1975, he ventured out on his own and created what would become one of the leading investment groups in Saudi Arabia. Jaffa
Jaffa, in Hebrew Yafo ( he, יָפוֹ, ) and in Arabic Yafa ( ar, يَافَا) and also called Japho or Joppa, the southern and oldest part of Tel Aviv-Yafo, is an ancient port city in Israel. Jaffa is known for its association with the biblical stories of Jonah, Solomon and Saint Peter as well as the mythological story of Andromeda and Perseus, and later for its oranges. Today, Jaffa is one of Israel's mixed cities, with approximately 37% of the city being Arab. Etymology The town was mentioned in Egyptian sources and the Amarna letters as ''Yapu''. Mythology says that it is named for Yafet (Japheth), one of the sons of Noah, the one who built it after the Flood. The Hellenist tradition links the name to ''Iopeia'', or Cassiopeia, mother of Andromeda. Mahmoud Abbas
Mahmoud Abbas ( ar, مَحْمُود عَبَّاس, Maḥmūd ʿAbbās; born 15 November 1935), also known by the kunya Abu Mazen ( ar, أَبُو مَازِن, links=no, ), is the president of the State of Palestine and the Palestinian National Authority. He has been the chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization ( PLO) since 11 November 2004, PNA president since 15 January 2005, and State of Palestine president since 8 May 2005. Birzeit University
Birzeit University (BZU; ar, جامعة بيرزيت) is a public university in the West Bank, in the State of Palestine, registered by the Palestinian Ministry of Social Affairs as charitable organization. It is accredited by the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education and located in Birzeit, West Bank, near Ramallah.
