Olusegun Oke Library
Olusegun Oke Library (OOL) is the main academic library of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso in Oyo State, Nigeria. It was formerly known as LAUTECH Library and was established in July 1990, some months after the inauguration of the university. It was set up as one of the academic units in the university. Olusegun Oke Library was renamed after Professor Olusegun Oke, the first Vice-Chancellor of the university. It serves as the nerve center of academic activities in the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso in Oyo State, Nigeria. It houses different sections and units such as the Readers Service Unit, Technical Service Unit, Acquisitions Unit, Serials Unit, Reference Section and Virtual /E-Library. The library allows a large proportion of its materials on open access. Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) is a tertiary institution located in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria. The university enrolls over 30,000 students and employs more than 3,000 workers including contract staff. History In 1987, Governor Adetunji Olurin, the then Military Governor of Oyo State (now split into two states: Oyo and Osun), received a request from the Governing Council of The Polytechnic, Ibadan to establish a State University. In 1988, he set up a seven member interministerial committee under the chairperson of Mrs. Oyinkan Ayoola, that recommended the creation of the university. By 13 March 1990, Nigeria's federal military government accepted the State's request.
