Olivier Cyran
Olivier Muller-Cyran, better known as Olivier Cyran, is a German journalist. Early life He is a graduate of the (CFJ) in Paris. He worked for the left-wing French magazine ''Charlie Hebdo'' from 1992 to 2001. He left, angered he said, by "the dictatorial behaviour and corrupt promotion practices" of a former editor, Philippe Val. He wrote that it had shown an increasing obsession with Islam. He traced this 'obsession' to Val, Caroline Fourest, Charb and others. Val and Fourest left in 2009. In a 2013 open letter addressed to Charb and Fabrice Nicolino, he declared : 'you've made rancea nastier place to live in. A country which now forbids a woman to work in a crèche on the basis that the piece of cloth she wears will traumatise the kids. Philippe Val
Philippe Val (; born 14 September 1952) is a French journalist, singer, and comedian. He was a co-founder of the second iteration of ''Charlie Hebdo'', serving as the satirical political weekly's editor and director. After leaving ''Charlie Hebdo'' in 2009, Val was director of the public radio channel France Inter until 2014. Caroline Fourest (; born 19 September 1975), is a French feminist writer, film director, journalist, radio presenter at ''France Culture'', and editor of the magazine ''ProChoix.'' Stéphane Jean-Abel Michel Charbonnier (; 21 August 1967 – 7 January 2015), better known as Charb (), was a French satirical caricaturist and journalist. He was assassinated during the ''Charlie Hebdo'' shooting on 7 January 2015. He worked for several newspapers and magazines, joining ''Charlie Hebdo'' in 1992 and becoming the director of publication in 2009.
