Oliver Gross (born 17 June 1973) is a former professional tennis player from Germany. Career Gross, the 1991 German Youth Champion, turned professional in 1993. The following year reached his first and only ATP Tour final, in San Marino, where he was defeated in straight sets by Carlos Costa. He reached his highest career ranking of 60 in 1995, after reaching the quarterfinals in Munich and defeating number two Peter Sampras in Barcelona 1–6, 6–2, 6–3. His best performance in a Grand Slam came at the 1998 US Open when he reached the round of 16. Gross came from two sets down in the opening round to beat 16th seed Albert Costa 2–6, 4–6, 7–5, 6–2, 6–4. He then accounted for dual French Open winner Sergi Bruguera 6–1, 6–3, 6–4 and in the third round had another five setter, defeating American wildcard Geoff Grant, 7–5, 6–7, 5–7, 6–3, 7–5. Petros "Pete" Sampras ( el, Πέτρος Σάμπρας; born August 12, 1971) is an American former world No. 1 tennis player. His professional career began in 1988 and ended at the 2002 US Open, which he won, defeating longtime rival Andre Agassi in the final. Sampras won 14 major singles titles during his career, which was an all-time record at the time of his retirement: a then-record seven Wimbledon titles, two Australian Opens and a joint Open Era record five US Open titles. He won 64 singles titles in total. Marcelo Andrés Ríos Mayorga (; born 26 December 1975) is a Chilean former world No. 1 tennis player. Nicknamed ''"El Chino"'' ("The Chinese") and ''"El zurdo de Vitacura"'' ("The Lefty from Vitacura"), he became the first Latin American player to reach the top position on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles rankings in March 1998, holding the spot for six weeks. Mario Rincón (born 13 December 1967) is a former professional tennis player from Colombia. Career Rincon completed his education in the United States and was an NCAA All-American at the University of Kentucky. After making his way through qualifying, Rincon played David Engel in the opening round of the 1990 US Open. He was beaten in straight sets. Per Henrik ''Magnus'' Larsson (born 25 March 1970) is a former professional tennis player from Sweden. Playing career Larsson turned professional in 1989 and won his first top-level singles title at Florence in 1990. His first doubles title was also won in Florence, in 1991. Geoff Grant is an American former professional tour tennis player. Biography Grant reached a career high tour singles ranking of World No. 109 in November 1998. This came shortly after he achieved his best tournament result, reaching the third round of the 1998 U.S. Open, as a wild card entrant. In that tournament he defeated World No. 101 Javier Sánchez in four sets and No. 74 Andrei Medvedev in four before falling to No. 92 Oliver Gross in five set, 5–7 in the fifth. Sergi Bruguera
Sergi Bruguera i Torner (; born 16 January 1971) is a former professional tennis player from Spain. He won consecutive men's singles titles at the French Open in 1993 and 1994, a silver medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in men's singles and reached a career-high ranking of No. 3 in August 1994. Bruguera is the only player to have a winning record against both Roger Federer and Pete Sampras. He won three of his five matches against Sampras: Bruguera leads 1–0 on hard court, 2–1 on clay, and Sampras leads 1–0 on carpet.
