Olga Bondareva
Olga Nikolaevna Bondareva (April 27, 1937 – December 9, 1991) was a distinguished Soviet mathematician and economist. She contributed to the fields of mathematical economics, especially game theory. Bondareva is best known as one of the two independent discoverers of the Bondareva–Shapley theorem. Biography In 1954 she entered the Mathematics and Mechanics Faculty of Leningrad State University, receiving her ''kandidat'' degree in 1963 under the supervision of Nikolai Vorobyov. She defended her ''doktor nauk'' degree in 1984 at the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Moscow State University. From October 1959 to April 1972 she worked as a junior researcher, then associate professor (in operations research), and then a senior researcher at the Mathematics and Mechanics Faculty of Leningrad State University. Core (game Theory)
In cooperative game theory, the core is the set of feasible allocations that cannot be improved upon by a subset (a ''coalition'') of the economy's agents. A coalition is said to ''improve upon'' or ''block'' a feasible allocation if the members of that coalition are better off under another feasible allocation that is identical to the first except that every member of the coalition has a different consumption bundle that is part of an aggregate consumption bundle that can be constructed from publicly available technology and the initial endowments of each consumer in the coalition. An allocation is said to have the ''core property'' if there is no coalition that can improve upon it. The core is the set of all feasible allocations with the core property. Oskar Morgenstern
Oskar Morgenstern (January 24, 1902 – July 26, 1977) was an Austrian-American economist. In collaboration with mathematician John von Neumann, he founded the mathematical field of game theory as applied to the social sciences and strategic decision-making (see von Neumann–Morgenstern utility theorem). Companies he served as founder/co-founder of included Market Research Corporation of America, Mathematica and Mathematica Policy Research. Lloyd Shapley
Lloyd Stowell Shapley (; June 2, 1923 – March 12, 2016) was an American mathematician and Nobel Prize-winning economist. He contributed to the fields of mathematical economics and especially game theory.
