Ole Ring
Ole Ring by Laurits Andersen Ring (1925) Ole Ring (6 August 1902 – 2 May 1972) was a Danish painter. Biography Ole Ring was born at Baldersbrønde in Hedehusene, Denmark. He was the youngest of three children of Laurits Andersen Ring and Sigrid Eing, née Kähler. The family lived in the L. A. Ring House in Roskilde from 1914. Ole Ring was taught to paint by his father who was a notable artist. Ole Ring's work is strongly influenced by that of his father. He was a naturalist who painted numerous paintings of landscapes and village life on eastern Zealand. Ring preferred to paint in the autumn and winter months, and the images, which typically have a greyish, silvery tinge, were affected by the winter light in the color scheme. Unlike his father, he has also painted many cityscapes from Copenhagen. He died in Køge and is buried at Klosterkirkegården. Hedehusene
Hedehusene is a suburban town located on the rail line between Copenhagen and Roskilde in the Capital Region of Denmark. It has absorbed the villages of ''Baldersbrønde'' and Fløng and almost merged with Roskilde's eastern Trekroner neighbourhood to the west and Høje Taastrup to the east. To the south is the large recreational area Hedeland. As of 1 January 2022, the town had a population of 13,663. A large development project, NærHeden, created as a collaboration between Høje-Taastrup Municipality and Realdania, will expand the town to the southeast with a new sustainable neighbourhood. Sigrid Kähler
Sigrid Kähler, also Sigrid Andersen Ring, (12 May 1874 – 9 May 1923) was a Danish ceramist and painter. Through her father, the ceramist Herman A. Kähler, she met the painter L. A. Ring. After their marriage in 1896, she inspired many of his works. Although she spent most of her time as a mother and housewife, she continued to paint occasionally and decorated ceramics. Her work together with that of her husband was exhibited in Ordrupgaard in 2017. Early life Born in Næstved on 12 May 1874, Sigrid Kähler was the eldest of the six children of the ceramist Herman August Kähler (1846–1917) and Jansine Elisabeth Christine Berg (1848–1901). The others were Herman Hans Christian (1876), Hedevig (1878), Ebba (1880), Elisabeth (1882) and Stella (1886). She learnt to paint in her father's workshop where she decorated ceramics.
