Ebenezar Olaoluwa Fagbemi (born 20 October 1984) is a Nigerian male badminton player. He competed at the 2002 and 2010 Commonwealth Games. At the All-Africa Games, he has collected three golds, two silvers and three bronzes from 2003-2015. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Ocholi Edicha
Ocholi Abel Edicha (born 10 May 1979) is a Nigerian badminton player. He was the men's singles gold medalist at the 2003 All-Africa Games, also in the mixed team event in 2007. He competed at the 2002 and 2010 Commonwealth Games. Edicha started his career in badminton at the young age. With the support from his father, he joined Enugu Sports Council. He was recruited by Nigerian Army in 1996, spent for 23 years. He stopped playing for his country after the 2010 New Delhi Commonwealth Games. Abuja () is the capital and eighth most populous city of Nigeria. Edwin Ekiring (born 22 December 1986) is a Ugandan badminton player, nicknamed "The Black Pearl". He is tall and weighs . Career At the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, Ekiring competed in the men's singles as well as the mixed team event. In the singles he was defeated in the first round, 17–21, 17–21 by Sri Lankan Dinuka Karunaratne. In pool B of the mixed team event he won singles matches in fixtures against Jamaica and Kenya but lost matches to players from Australia and New Zealand. Playing with Abraham Wogute, he lost team doubles matches against Jamaica, Australia and New Zealand but beat the pair from Kenya as Uganda were eliminated from the competition at the pool stage. The badminton competition at the 2002 Commonwealth Games took place at the Bolton Arena in Manchester, England from 25 July until 4 August 2002. There were no bronze medal play off matches because both losing semi-finalists were awarded a bronze medal.
