Oddvar Vormeland
Oddvar Vormeland (28 February 1924 – 30 August 2013) was a Norwegian educationalist and civil servant. He was born in Hof i Solør as a son of folk high school manager Ola Vormeland and his wife Gyda, née Hval. In 1949 he married Sigrun Røed, who was also a daughter of a school manager. He took commerce school in 1942, the examen artium in 1943 and teachers' college in 1948. He took the mag.art. degree (PhD equivalent) in 1951, and the dr.philos. degree in 1967. From 1959 to 1964 he worked as a lecturer at the University of Oslo; he then served as a school inspector, and was the school director of Oslo and Akershus from 1971 to 1984. He was then a deputy under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Education and Church Affairs from 1984 to 1989, and an assisting professor at the University of Oslo from 1990 to 1994. Hof, Hedmark
Hof is a former municipality in the old Hedmark county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until 1963 when it was merged into Åsnes Municipality. In 1963 when it was dissolved, the municipality encompassed . The administrative centre was the village of Hof where the old Hof Church is located. Hof was located in the traditional district of Solør. Hof was bordered by Grue municipality to the south, Asnes municipality to the north, Våler, Nord-Odal, and Stange municipalities to the west, and the Kingdom of Sweden to the east. The eastern part of the municipality was part of the Finnskogen area. Examen artium was the name of the academic certification conferred in Denmark and Norway, qualifying the student for admission to university studies. Examen artium was originally introduced as the entrance exam of the University of Copenhagen in 1630. The University of Copenhagen was the only university of Denmark-Norway until The Royal Frederick University in Christiania was founded in 1811. In Norway, examen artium was formally discontinued after the 1982 class (but the term is still sometimes used informally to denote the diploma from today's "videregående skole"). ''Hvem er hvem?'' ( en, Who is Who?) was a Norwegian book series, presenting facts about notable persons from Norway. The first edition was issued in 1912, and the 14th edition came in 1994. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Akershus
Akershus () is a traditional region and current electoral district in Norway, with Oslo as its main city and traditional capital. It is named after the Akershus Fortress in Oslo. From the middle ages to 1919, Akershus was a fief and main county that included most of Eastern Norway, and from the 17th century until 2020, Akershus also had a more narrow meaning as a (sub) county that included most of the Greater Oslo Region. Bærum () is a municipality in the Greater Oslo Region in Norway that forms an affluent suburb of Oslo on the west coast of the city. Bærum is Norway's fifth largest municipality with a population of 128,760 (2021). It is part of the electoral district and historical county of Akershus and of the newer Viken County. Vinderen is a neighbourhood in the Vestre Aker borough of Oslo, Norway. It was a separate borough until 1 January 2004, when it was incorporated into the newly established borough of Vestre Aker.
