Ocean Drive (band)
Ocean Drive are a dance music project established in 2008 and made up of French music producers Nicolas Carel and Just Uman. A successful European electronic dance and pop act with an album ''With the Sunshine'' and a number of singles in France, Belgium and Switzerland, they collaborate with vocalist Gilles Luka, formerly a member of bands Galleon and Luka, and with DJ Oriska, Smartzee and more recently with Norwegian singer / entertainer of Iranian origin Aylar Lie. Carel and Uman launched the band after meeting at a nightclub in Miami, Florida and the music project is named after the fashionable Ocean Drive in South Beach South Beach, also nicknamed colloquially as SoBe, is a neighborhood in Miami Beach, Florida. Electro Dance
French Electro dance (otherwise known as Tecktonik and Milky Way) is one style of frenetic and quirky form of street dance typically performed to electro house music. It is based on, although is not limited to, a blend of different dance styles, such as industrial dance, Moroccan chaabi, disco, vogue, waacking, hip-hop and freehand glowsticking. It started in the 2000s and originated in the southern suburbs of Paris, France, mainly from the Metropolis nightclubs and has spread around the world. Fast-paced techno and electro house music imported from Northern Europe is the usual choice for Tecktonik dancing. Galleon was a French house group from Marseille, founded by Michel Fages and Phillippe Laurent, (who recruited Gilles Fahy for singing). Musical career They emerged on the European dance scene in 2001 with a hit single " So I Begin" song in English. The single was released by Sony Music/Radikal Records and sold 400,000 copies, peaking at number 36 in the UK Singles Chart Also noteworthy is the accompanying music video featuring the model Jitka Ogurekova. Smartzee is a French rapper born in Benin. Biography Smartzee became known to the general public due to his feature on the single "Et c’est parti" of French R&B singer Nâdiya. The single reached the top 5 French rankings for 22 weeks. He remade a duet in 2005 with Nâdiya for the song "All these words" which reached the 2nd place.
