''Norwegian Sun'' is a ''Sun'' class cruise ship operated by Norwegian Cruise Line. She entered service in 2001 in a dual christening ceremony at the Port of Miami with '' Norwegian Star''. She was constructed at the Lloyd Werft shipyard in Bremerhaven, Germany. Vessel class ''Norwegian Sun'' is the third and final ship of this design. She was preceded by '' Norwegian Sky'' (entered service in 1999, relaunched as ''Pride of Aloha'' in 2004); and ''Costa Victoria'' of Costa Cruises (entered service in 1996). Harvest Caye
Harvest Caye is a private island owned by Norwegian Cruise Line, located in southern Belize. The caye features wildlife exhibitions including a blue morpho butterfly house. On May 23, 2017, personnel from Harvest Caye, accompanied by Edgar Correa of the Belize Forestry Department, removed a juvenile Scarlet Macaw from Belize Bird Rescue to add to Harvest Caye's wildlife exhibits. Belize Bird Rescue, a non-profit organization dedicated to rehabilitating and releasing rescued wildlife, strongly objected to this action, arguing that the bird was healthy and a good release candidate and should not be kept permanently in captivity. The confiscation was also condemned by the Belize Audubon Society and has become a significant controversy for the resort. Costa Maya is a small tourist region in the Othón P. Blanco, Quintana Roo, municipality of Othón P. Blanco in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, the only state bounded by the Caribbean Sea to its east. This municipality is close to Chetumal (capital of the state) on the border with Belize. The area was generally undeveloped but has been growing rapidly since construction of a large pier to accommodate cruise ships.
