Noaim
Noaim or Al-Noaim ( ar, النعيم; ''an-No'aim'') is a neighborhood of Bahrain's capital Manama. It is northwest of Manama city center. Due to Urban sprawl, urban expansion, increasing population, size, and historical conditions, it has become like a semi-district, separate from Manama with many neighborhoods. The population of Noaim is about 6,000 people, while more than ten thousand people live in different areas and villages of Bahrain. While some displaced families have been cut off from the area, the majority have remained in contact with their families, relatives, and friends who still live there. These visits increase in religious occasions such as holidays, Ashura and Ramadan. One of the most important reasons for the isolation of the Noaim from Manama is the construction of the Wall of Manama, which divided the neighborhood of Noaim into a southern part within the wall, and a northern part outside the wall. Mohammed Hasan Kamaluddin
Mohammed Hasan Kamaluddin (Arabic: محمد حسن كمال الدين, born 1941) is a Bahraini former cabinet minister, member of parliament, ex-diplomat, poet, historian, writer and researcher. He is best known for having published the first Encyclopedia of Bahraini History, stretching from 3000 B.C. to the modern Bahraini state. It is the largest and first work of its kind in the GCC region. Early life Born in 1941 in Noaim district, Manama, his father Syed Ali Kamaluddin was a revolutionist and a political activist against the British colonial influence in Bahrain, and the head of the National Union Committee, a nationalist political organization formed in the 1950s. At the age of 7, Mohammed was forced to work in his uncle's shop, who treated him harshly. Manama ( ar, المنامة ', Bahrani Arabic, Bahrani pronunciation: ) is the capital and largest city of Bahrain, with an approximate population of 200,000 people as of 2020. Urban sprawl (also known as suburban sprawl or urban encroachment) is defined as "the spreading of urban developments (such as houses and shopping centers) on undeveloped land near a city." Urban sprawl has been described as the unrestricted growth in many urban areas of housing, commercial development, and roads over large expanses of land, with little concern for urban planning. In addition to describing a special form of urbanization, the term also relates to the social and environmental consequences associated with this development. Medieval suburbs suffered from loss of protection of city walls, before the advent of industrial warfare. Modern disadvantages and costs include increased travel time, transport costs, pollution, and destruction of the countryside. Ashura
Ashura (, , ) is a day of commemoration in Islam. It occurs annually on the 10th of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar. Among Shia Muslims, Ashura is observed through large demonstrations of high-scale mourning as it marks the death of Husayn ibn Ali (a grandson of Muhammad), who was beheaded during the Battle of Karbala in 680 CE.
